i finished watching American Beauty. if anyone hasn't seen this dark-tinged sweet apple of a film, you'd be doing yourself a favor to watch it on Netflix. people say it's overrated, sometimes... fuck that. this movie is a one of a kind. what can one take from this movie? that love, no matter how deep it's hidden, is there in everyone. always. you just have to see it.

I mean it wasn't terrible by any means. I personally did not enjoy that much however.

I'm joking neither film made me cry. Triumph though is very interesting from a historical perspective however.

Dude who directed American Beauty has a new one called Inherent Vice out next year, it looks tremendous.

He also directed There Will BeBlood.

wait... what... i didn't even fuckin' know that. :facepalm3: that's what i get for watching it all coked up. Sam Mendes is a fuckin' awesome director. (hold up, Mendes didn't direct it, Paul Thomas Anderson did. Magnolia, Boogie Nights) (PS: i got There Will Be Blood again; and i'm gonna probably spin it tonight, after Winter's Bone. BTW, you've seen? it's supposedly pretty good, and it sounds kinda interesting... meth labs, finding lost fathers, as obviously he is somekind of methhead that ran away from home to get cracked out, so his daughter goes looking for him... should be decent at least, with that kinda fucked story)

Wait, maybe I'm confusing directors...

Haven't seen Winter's Bone yet, I think.

It came out in 2007, you probably just weren't old enough to watch R rated movies yet.

ok, fine so you've got some taste. :crankey:

that movie kinda fucked up my perceptions of Daniel Day though, now i can't pretend i'm him in the mirror. :crazybeard: not without me taking my own milkshake, and that can't be forgiven. plus with what i'm doing in the mirror, it's kinda gross.
