Found a Voodoo doll at the beach today...

Looks to be a hand sewn doll and not a novelty gift. It has a certain aura to it. When I show it to people they kinda jump back a little and look startled. Anyone know anything about the voodoo?

When I was a kid, my imaginary friend was named JuJu. I also grew up in a very Jewish neighborhood, and my mother tells this story about the time we were at the grocery store and I couldn't  "find" JuJu and and started running around the store yelling "JuJu. JuJu. JuJu"
