    #2025271 - 10/20/03 01:20 PM (13 years, 1 month ago)

I found some panaeolus in the forest and I'm gonna take prints and photos but I'm too curious is there any species of them that are not active?Forgive my knowledge:)

Well, your first problem is that you found Panaeolus in the forrest. They don't grow in the forrest. They decompose things like hay and manure... not leaves or wood. Wrong habitat for Pans, dude.

And yes, I'd say about half the genus(or more) of Panaeolus is inactive.

Gumby Dude is correct, they do not grow in the forest, oinly manure and rtted hay compost with horse manure and straw or hay.

And half of them are inactive species.

have a shroomy day.

they arent panaeolus, they wont grow if you try, they would contaminate even if they were pans and would not grow, if they are indeed pans then it would be something like pan sphinctrinus, but id say you probably have some type of psathyrella
