I don't think that all electronic music is a bad scene - I'm not going to generalize. The scene varies, but there's a significant portion of it that just draws a shitty shitty crowd - it's the same as most other music genres. IDK, I'm 22 and I already feel too old to go to any of the raves I used to go to, I'd rather kick back and smoke weed and drink at a more laid back concert, and I prefer to roll in more laid back environments for whatever reason.

I will say that the northeast cities still have their fair share of good warehouse parties and house shows and stuff, but I will always prefer the more laid back chilled out crowds to anything.

lol im 25 and the crew i rage with is all 25-30 years old...hanging with older people is cool cuz we have money to do fun shit and hit the best festivals and events

laid back is cool, but theres nothing like watching a crowd rage a bassnectar show, everyones just goin fuckin nuts lol, and understandably so...but the crowds that chill a little more are the ones with an older crowd and not so much of that kandi kid PLUR shit, those shows are out there, its just that when most people think "EDM" they think of all the bullshit you hear at Ultra or EDC etc etc etc, this scene is SO MUCH MORE than just those shitty people, that shit is for kids...theres plenty of shows where the crowd is older, people be chillin to great music, and theres no custy shit going on, think IDM kinda stuff


the northeast has a really good scene up here tho, im really happy with it, plus im homies with the dude who started the biggest promoting company out here so thats pretty chill

its such a tight knit scene too, meaning that all the same people go to shows all the time

its fun to actually be a part of a music scene, i can go to a show anywhere in the northeast and see a handful of people that i know, and in boston i know legit like everybody who goes to shows on the reg, theres always someone who wants to go to a show with you, and even if i go alone, it usually takes about 2 minutes for me to get into the crowd and see a friendly face, then im not alone anymore

like when i went to CO for bassnectar a few weeks ago, not only did i go with like 20 people, but i saw about 20 other people also from my area who i just saw randomly, just so tight knit

very few music scenes like that, you just gotta ignore the custies and associate yourself with people who YOU consider to be cool, thats the best way to make every show fun

Its kinda funny that some people seem to think that electronic dance music and rave culture is some new found thing. It's only been going on for what, 25 years? These kids talk like its their generation that founded it. Ruined it more like.  :oldman:

i dont know mate i know a few people who used to orgainse free parties in the early ninties and it sounds pretty fucking awesome tbh

Mmm I never was big on festivals tbh. Been to a few really good ones, but I always prefered the dingy club atmosphere. The best parties i've been to have all been warehouse raves. Smoke machines, low level lighting, etc.

I think the main difference between the raves of the late 80s/early 90s and today is pretty much the same difference as the music. Theres still great stuff going on now, you just have to dig deeper. Theres no quality control anymore. Thats the main problem. Its all gone very PG rated, so you have to skim through to find the good stuff. Its still out there though, although honestly from the stories I hear the early days really did sound absolutley mental.

I like your attitude though bassfreak. Just wish I felt the same way.  :shrug:

honestly shows are cool, but in the summer, shows are for kids. festivals these days are just insane. great vibes and just so much fun. ill take partying in the appalachian mountains on a beautiful night over a dirty club anyday of the week

I am starting to get skeptical of this story too. The main reason I started getting skeptical is when he said the hospital didn't run a toxicology screen on him, "because he didn't push for it." I don't care what you say, if you say you were at a festival and got pricked, the hospital would have for sure ran a tox screen on their own, regardless of whether you wanted it or not.

Also, why would you be paranoid of posting a picture of the mark on your back? Your face isn't in it. Unless you have identifying markers such as tattoos on your back you shouldn't be paranoid of posting the mark on your back.
