It shows how the president of the untied states, is being possibly represented in a spiritual way, intentional or not by the media....interesting, and relevent too.  Keep up the good posts psilokitten...

So, Ill go ahead and make this relevant in terms that he cannot even deny.

FDR was a cripple.  He installed a wood panel that hid his wheelchair and legs on a desk in the oval office.  The media never told that side of the story.  The American public had no idea.

Instead, the newspaper user was given the images of FDR en masse through media.  The newspapers were fully aware of what they were doing.

I think that parallels this in some ways.  GWB is being put in poses and newpapers, as well as websites, are insuring that these images are widely circulated.  It is perhaps a more subversive tactic considering the imagery.

These pictures arent easy to take, they are either the most freakish occurances ever.. or they are being staged.  Or hey, maybe some liberal photographer thinks it is a laugh riot.

How politics reach us through media is a pretty important topic.. dont you think?  I mean, what about all the articles you post.. or all the bitch fests about "liberal" media.

The coin turns both ways.  The consertative media and BushCO have been refining their tactics for years.

Well, allright.

I think most of those pictures are coincidences except by the choice of the president of where to be. I'm sure he has tens of thousands of pictures taken of himself every day.

But, it begs the question of why there are so many pics with this result if it isnt conscious on someone's part. How do they get past the editors? Wouldnt the imagery cause them to not put them in if they had 48 other photos? If these were the best the various photographers can do, then what does that say about the current status of the art of photography?

I mean, look at the pics. I can send you more. There are a great deal of pics out there with this theme, this is just a handful.

It's hard for me to pass it off as coincidence. Like I said earlier, it would suggest such a high level of incompetence in more than one person involved. Is it a running joke or creepy manipulation? I'm guessing the former. When I worked on a paper there were running jokes now and then. I got a "there-they're-their" into two different stories. (as in, "When they're there, their interests turn to...") Things like that made our boring lives seem worthwhile.

But don't worry, we never skewed any facts...

These photos can be found in multiple papers though.

So even if someone had a running joke going.. at one branch of a media conglomerate, it wouldnt appear all over the whole US.

This is mas creepy.

Why wouldn't they?

How many pictures of Bush are there like this in relation to the total number of pictures. It seems to be that this type of imagery simply wasn't deliberately avoided. On the other hand some of them may have been chosen because of religeous significance, but even if some of them were, most of them probably were not.

this thread looks pretty stupid... so i'm not going to read the whole thing... but...

what's the argument here? is anyone really suggesting the the media is trying to subliminally associate GWB with messiah-hood on account of a few pictures of him in which the presidential seal (a common fixture at many of his public appearences) happens to be behind his head in a way that may suggest a halo?

are people here seriously arguing that?
