I'm not familiar with the bible, but I thought one of the signs of apocalypse would be that a man claiming to be of God would fool everybody into following him. Seeing that Bush is a born again christian and always says he's doing things in the name of God, I always thought that maybe he is that man.

I bet Bush thinks he's the messiah. Here's a quote from Bush talking to ex-Palestinian PM Mahmoud Abbas. (emphasis mine)

I have another similar shot (US Seal as halo) that I cut out of a newspaper. Did other presidents get their "halo shot" in the papers as well?

I've worked in a newsroom, and I can assure you that if a picture of someone with an obvious halo is selected, it means that the photo editor and the copy editor and the editor in chief all either have no photographic eye and completely missed a very curious (and rather obvious) alignment of elements in the photo (and therefore aren't worth a damn at their job), OR they purposefully used that photo (they have several proofs to choose from). In my newsroom that picture might have gotten through for its somewhat twisted humorous value. Here Psilo has found a small collection of them. Though I'm not sure if that last guy is Bush--is he? Strange angle.

edit: just saw the name above the pic. Daschle and Bush vie for top Messianic honors...

I think he is the only special one that gets halo pictures atleast a few times a year.

Um, he is a politician.

This thread is about the slant that affords him and about manipulation of media by the government.. and the activism against that. Namely, the act of making people aware of it.

Id suggest you start asking that question of alot more threads current in this forum, or you might look like an ass.

It's not just about funny pics. Like Psilo said, it's a reflection on the image he has in the media and how there's become almost a cult around him. Granted, it's a rather extreme example, but I'd say it's still fair. There are far more pointless threads on this forum.
