Some new works.

Mugwort

Nigella Sativa - Black cumin - Straight from seedling to flower

A nice & stout Klip Dagga

Can't get enough of this, same as in my signature. Blooming the mullein.

Some Borage

The Rue

Entada Rheedii, didn't expect this to grow. It's exploding, not
familiar with good conditions for this guy. Any help much appreciated.
Not the best picture.

Rebutia Perplexa - First cactus i've ever had to fruit and seed.

Never really said it was broken or needed fixing, but thanks for the advice..:undecided:

It's doing fine now yes, but when it out grows it's pot. Matures some and maybe
needs special requirements? Soil needs, shade vs light, etc. Couldn't find much info
online, perhaps I din't look hard enough.

Common rue "Ruta graveolens"

Never tried growing syrian rue, i've got a jar full of seeds but I doubt they're viable.

Zone 8-9 depending on which map you look at, ha.

Pretty stoked, the flowers just kept coming. And this was the one I thought needed
the most attention, an up pot and lighter soil. When the flowers came, I knew all was good.

I love the coral plant. Looks like snowflake cannabis leaves.

They're awesome when they sprout, thick like a pencil. Like a snake curling up
out of the dirt. Got this as a freebie from a vendor, had no idea what it was.

Everything looks so healthy, no doubt due to your efforts. Mugwort grows around here like wild fire, it's strange to see someone cultivating something that grows so abundantly in your local area, i always wondered if someone somewhere has a pot filled with dandelions. Shannin looks like petunia ?
What's that growing with the mullein ?, you know they aren't mullein flowers ?

Feverfew is garden visitor here, same as mullein, occasionally. Maybe the wind or birds bring them, maybe they are descendants from a long distant past when we once encourage them into our space. Sometimes when you think they are gone they surprise you.

Thanks!

I went crazy on a seed buying spree, and got all the ethno's I had ever
wanted to try out. Although a lot of this grows locally, I wanted it even more local.

Shanin is Petunia Violacea

Heimia salicifolia - "Sinicuichi" is next to the mullein.
Sinicuichi is the one with the flowers.
However the mullein just put out it's flower shoot. It will be flowering soon.

Thanks, I honestly just grow most of this for ornamental value.
But companions and friends better suits the way I feel about it.

I brewed sinicuichi last year only to throw it out.
I was paranoid about getting sick from the fermentation.

I collect the mullein leaves sometimes for tea and smoking.

The borage is nice to chew on.

I like to test the waters every now and again with a datura seed, or bite of a leaf. But no more!

And most of the other stuff is a first for me. Haven't had the chance. But I don't really plan to. I just enjoy their presence.

Hey that's cool at the very least it's good for all the creatures in your yard.  I really enjoy learning uses for plants and along the way learning the neat little details.  Recently in my garden it's been time to clear out part of the jungle of stinging nettles so been time to practice making some cordage.  I love nettles around here - easy to grow, tasty and nutritious, and good for cutting back numerous times in a season to get fresh greens.

Borage flowers are a good treat with a bit of sweet nectar in them for when you're in the garden.  The Nigella sativa seeds are supposed to be a cumin-like spice though I haven't had the chance to try them.  The motherworts I'd be careful about unleashing as they self seed easily as I have learned from having a massive patch of in the garden haha.  At least the bees love them.  Ever thought about growing valerian or licorice?

Totally, I learn new things about the plants I have everyday. It's overwhelming
all the different uses for them. You made that chord yourself from nettles?
That's cool man, I wanna look into that.
Thistles are very abundantly wild here, I know they're super useful...and healthy.

I've also heard about nigella sativa to be a "super food" kinda thing. A heal all if you will.

I've actually got a couple valerians growing. I just didn't include the pictures. I've heard the cats love valerian also.

Hm couldn't really tell you how much time I spent on the cords but not as long as you might think.  Most of the work on these I've done during lunch breaks at work.  For a basic cord about the length of my armspan I can probably knock it out in half an hour to an hour if I already have the fibers separated from the pith and dried.

EDIT: Also that thicker cord there was a length of cord about the size of my armspan that I doubled over two more times and now it's a necklace.
