REALLY??? DID YOU REALLY JUST SAY THAT??!??! WHAT THE FUCK IS YOUR POINT, ARE YOU JUST TRYING TO INSULT ME OR WHAT!!!!

Yea, why on Earth would I think that you were responding to me when we were JUST going back and forth with each other?

How about you fucking THINK next time before making insulting statements.

Apollyphelion said:

I don't see how staying an hour and socializing with drinks and cakes is inconsiderate.

Oh yeah, I don't think that's inconsiderate at all. 1 hour is actually not even staying that long in a restaurant, if you're with a friend you sometimes spend twice that long, like 2 hours sometimes.

That's what I'm trying to say.

I am in near disbelief that luvdemshrooms considers it rude to stay one hour socializing and drinking after you eat. He only considers it proper to EAT AND GTFO. This is the type of thinking I tell to people because it is so funny to me. This is like an attitude perfect for like a Curb Your Enthusiasm skit.

Lol restaurant pet peeves is such a controversial topic. This is good to know. Things you can't talk about with new people; religion, politics, and restaurants.

How about you look to see who people are responding to before you jump onto your high horse? That will help keep you from falling off.

Not what I said. I suspect trolling at this point.

If you prevent other patrons from being seated, you are being rude. You can talk somewhere else.

He's basically only in favor of businesses getting their money, and doesn't think customers should get what they pay for.

For example, he believes that customers should pay $150 for changing their reservation time. :flowstone:

An hour is not even that long, the longest I've ever spent in a restaurant was 3 hours. If I'm with somebody I haven't seen in a long time, I will often spend 2 hours. 1 hour is actually about average, not long at all.

Plus, I doubt the wait staff would complain. A bigger bill means a bigger tip.

As a former server, I remember a lady who always dressed in purple. Would come in on the lunch rush and demand a booth, order a tea and sit there chatting with her friend for 2 fucking hours.
Waste of my time bitch

and left no tip, exact fucking change

That, I consider to be rude. Ordering only one coffee or soda and getting refills on it for hours. The only time that's okay is if its afternoon at a time its not busy. And even then, you should leave a 3 to 5 dollar tip minimum based on how long you were there.

People who hold tables during a rush are usually just too obvious to realize they are holding other people up. That is god damn annoying.

But you STILL think it is rude to stay for an hour when there are open tables.

I already conceded I would leave if there was a line.

However, you are still in looney social minority awkwardness land when it comes to the scenario of socializing for an hour in a restaurant with a few empty tables.

LOONEY I say.

You can't always see the line from your table. In addition, many restaurants give pagers to the patrons so they can wait outside or shop while they wait for their table.

In many cases you have no idea if someone is waiting or not.

In many cases you do, because either you were also on a wait or you notice the restaurant that was not full now is. Either there are empty tables and sitting around isn't a big deal, or there aren't and you probably shouldn't stay at the table longer than necessary. You can also ask your server if the restaurant is on a wait if you're concerned about it.

How about we talk about some actual, serious restaurant issues, like when a restaurant only has six or seven vegan options and none of them are made with certified organic, biodynamic, local wholegrain fairtrade ingredients.
