Bushido is basically a code to live your life by once you've dropped all the fears of death.  Once I figured that out, the Book of the Five Rings made soo much more sense.

A book written by Miyamoto Musashi, part poetry, part Tao; this is definitely worth the read.

Here's what his wiki has to say about him.
