Casing with Coir+coffee+calcium ammonium nitrate

I don't know but in a panic i decided i needed a casing and not having any verm, i decided to make up my own casing with what i had.

  Coir has been good to me
  coffee has givin me new insight into the microworld of course
  Gypsum haven't actually tried yet so this outta be fun!
  Calcium ammonium Nitrate.... Thinking that Nitrogen is good for developing dna and all that technical stuff, probley being why coffee is such a good one for mush. and other plants in general.

  So wondering what the thoughts are on this casing made on the fly...
  wish i would of made some sort of measurement for these but frankly i just added to much gypsum to low levels of everything else...oppsss

  and now I can't remember what else I was going to add but hey i might  remember????

OH yeah I ph'd the mix and came with 5, 6 as with test strips so far so good right?!!!!

Cubensis? Casing is not necessary.

And I could be wrong but I dont think you should put coffee in a casing.

Sounds more like a bulk substrate than a casing.

The casing layer is supposed to be a non-nutritious and preferably contam resistant layer just to provide a moist micro-climate for the substrate underneath.

I've heard coffee in particular is quite prone to contamination.

So let me get this straight.


      If I have been casing with coir then in theory, I could layer another "casing" of coir on top of that to make another layer of fresh colonizing for more mush....?
