Check out the Rose Bowl grass field overflow parking after a ucla game. Knee deep I have seen with my own eyes. And these are mostly educated football fans. Took a city crew of maybe 10 or more the better part of a day to clean it up, working pretty hard. Bet they made good OT that day.

If you're at a big outdoor venue like that and your beer cup goes empty you can either hold on to it until you see a garbage can or just drop it on the ground and let some worker pick it up later. Ya that's what I do as well. At a venue it's whatever people have a job because of it. Out in nature where I know it won't be picked up I won't even flick a cig butt. Just trashy.

At a festival like that, what would you suggest?

The bins provided are full almost immediately, are you going to bring all you'd rubbish home with you on the bus full of spent revellers?

You've been boozing in the tent, there are an untold amount of spills and stains in the tent so chances are you're going to leave it there as it was cheap anyway.

People are paid to clean it up, it's not as if the fields are left forever in that condition.

How about that rubbish heap the size of Texas floating around the pacific, all them tasty chemicals leeching into the water.

Ya I've been to festies that there really is no garbage. I just bag everything and throw it in my trunk. Dispose of it along the way at 711s or my house.

I got news for people. Putting your trash in bins doesn't do anything except for speed its transport into the ocean or landfills where it still has the same destructive impact on the environment. Once our oceans die we're going to die right along with it.

So recycle. Except it takes so much fucking energy to recycle shit that's an earth killer, too. Unless you honest to God keep your consumption at a real minimum you're no better than anyone else. It may make you feel better to point at trash heaps and gasp but you're doing the exact same thing and don't even know it.
