You're also paying for time in someone's life to sit there and hit the switch board, and the life of someone with "skills" is no more valuable than one without. The minimum covers labor and time.

I've worked jobs the majority of people I've met couldn't keep up with, manual labor can be extremely demanding and will easily take up your entire day. People working these essential jobs are fully capable of learning the "skills" their managers possess such as logging in people's names when they come in and out of work (that endeavor can grant you twice the pay of the crew actually doing the work).
You work your ass off all day long carrying the clammy fat people on your back, and at the end of the month you're not making enough to keep up with medical / legal / educational / childcare expenses.

Why even pretend you give a shit when the whole argument consists of "fuck poor people"?

Obviously nothing is perfect but a good step would be to allow workers to negotiate there own wages as opposed to the state saying how everyone is equal .

Cut your legal expenses or your medical expenses, or was it your educational expenses? Have you ever applied for a decent job to see how much competition there is from everyone else with degrees?
I've met an abundance of people with degrees working minimum wage jobs because "more valuable" jobs were not available.
