The fact of the matter is that they service the cashiers provide is not worth $15. They may be bright and brilliant, but any fast food job is really not meant as a permanent one, unless you are a manager type person and are capable of working up the ranks.

Other than that, it is an interim position.

Uh thats true though the cashier position is the domain of unskilled labor as human beings these people could smart average or dumb but the fact is it is a position not worth raising wages.

A lot of the people that work at them are older people who migrated here. I like the fact that seatac won and seattle is fighting for the people over the corporations. Especially mentioning billion dollar fast food places.

Do I think a person should have to have 3 jobs to support a family. no matter what you believe is under you? No. You can't even get full time work at them with obama care in effect.

I don't know if you know this, but fast food has razor tight margins compared to other industries. I don't have the numbers on me, but I am sure someone can put them up.

My question would be, if you're older, do you not have ANY experience that would put you ahead of the curve?

As for three part time jobs, I would say that if obamacare hadn't been passed, this wouldn't have been and issue. It is a flawed idea, the way they chose which businesses pay for their employees healthcare. Business will always try to remain profitable. If it means not hiring full time workers due to regulation, that is what they will do. If/when they change it so it is harder/ not possible to circumvent the requirement, they will simply outsource to places with cheap labor. Except then you lose the company, and associated jobs.

The last pizza place I worked at brought in 800-1200 a day in gross sales.  That is before the costs of wages, rent, food, insurance, etc.  :lol:  We were barley solvent.  Of course my coworkers bitched about not making enough...  Meanwhile nearby competitors were closing their doors.

Sounds like a shitty place that isn't profitable. :shrug: most of the huge corporates are insanely profitable. Worked for mooses tooth in alaska. A single place they were ranked one of the top most profitable pizza places in the us. Averaging 15 million a year.

Bad location, bad food, bad business, etc is not an excuse.
