Your OP describes your lack of weed as causing DTs. That's what is pathetic. If you want to get high? Go for it. It's San Diego. You'll be able to find someone that'll burn you down. Comparing the fact that you're not stoned to someone that is in an acute medical emergency due to alcohol withdrawal is ridiculous.

I can't speak for everyone else, but for me, yeah. Laugh all you want, but DTs are a life threatening condition. If you would roll into a dispensary & tell them to hook you up cause you have DTs they would either look at you like you're an idiot, or take it for what it means & you would be getting a visit from the paramedics.....which you would have to pay for.

Dude a really small percentage of people have medical complications during DT.  It can be life-threatening under the right circumstances but its not so common. :shrug:

Nah.  I'm just a stickler for genuine information. One of the stated purposes of this forum is to stop the spread of misinformation. How do you feel about weed being illegal? You wouldn't have this problem if it wasn't. All you'd have to do is flash your ID if you were living in Colorado. The fight is far from won, and spreading talk of "DTs" from not smoking doesn't exactly help the cause. The anti-weed continue to scramble to spread their BS to attempt to turn the tide back in their favor. Round these parts they use commercials interviewing "weed addicts" to try to stem the flow of change. You grow your own? Then why not plan ahead and bring/ship some?

DTs are common knowledge. The fact that you don't know what they are speaks volumes. If you did know what they are, and still figured it was a good word to use to describe not having weed, well......that also speaks volumes, and in a worse way.  You're right about one thing though; I am a recovering addict, though I can't say that my feelings are hurt. I'm merely dismayed by the continuation of misinformation being spread here. ....and as someone who's kicked real addictions, and moved on successfully, I can :facepalm: and say sack the fuck up & deal with it. Even with my addictive personality I could smoke a bowl, then not touch it again for months or years.

Every activity you mentioned that you've done so far....stoners were there. If you haven't been able to find it than I don't know what to tell you.

The fact that OP is having so much trouble finding weed in SoCal speaks volumes to the fact that no one will seriously consider the idea of having DTs from lack of marijuana to be true.

I apologize for getting your panties in a knot over the use of incorrect terminology. It was without my knowledge this site had such a hard on for correction.
I did plan ahead, I brought a bit over half a P, excuse me if i smoke like a chimney.
Yes let's change the tide of marijuana activism by mailing pot, that is so much better than using the wrong terminology thank you do much for your wisdom..

It does speak volumes, gallons maybe! Maybe I should dress like a stoner, slow down my drawl and use "man" every other word?

The percentage isn't that small; the numbers listed by medscape state that it's around 35% without the proper medical intervention. These days we're just really good at managing it, which has decreased the mortality rate dramatically. Comorbidities also complicate matters, and there are always comorbidities.  Now, the percentage of alcoholics that actually experience genuine DTs is quite small. Takes a while to get to that point. I have had patients that were prescribed alcohol because they'd crossed the threshold where even a controlled withdrawal from alcohol was too dangerous to attempt. There were bottles of scotch locked up in the med cabinets right next to the oxy, Xanax, etc.... :tongue2:
