Cannabis, cancer and global pharmaceutical conspiracy

Some of you argue that the pharmaceutical industry is actively suppressing the development of a cure for cancer and ignores the possibility to use cannabis since it can't be patented. I think this is absurd and offensive to all the researchers, health care professionals, nurses and patients dealing with cancer.

So are you one of those people?

No evidence of this.  A patent does not affect exclusivity periods, which is where the real money is made.  This is a common misunderstanding of drug development.

How is that offensive to any of those persons? Some people insinuate that a profession might not have all the details so it must be insulting?

No, it insinuates that everyone involved in pharmaceutics is a money-hungry demon who suppresses an easily made and effective herbal medicine in favour of expensive creepy chemicals which are less efficient, which in turn insinuates that they're stupid to favour the synthetic medicine instead of the herbal one, since an easily made and effective cure should have them rake in a lot of money.

I've always seen the argument as placing blame on a few individuals rather than an entire industry. If you compare it to a government it's rarely an entire system as much as the individuals controlling it.

But yeah.. I remember reading some stuff on how pharmaceutical companies travel the world looking for traditional medicines to synthesize. One instance in particular, which the details seem to be eluding me, they basically stole all of their shit and replaced these tribe's medicines with pharmaceuticals and started raping the land immediately.

That probably does happen, but it's not really related to the cannabis cancer cure conundrum. Cannabis is grown all over the world, sometimes on an industrial scale. If, legality aside, a pharmaceutical company found that something in cannabis could be used as an effective cancer treatment that could replace the conventional ones, they would start growing, extracting and manufacturing right away and make bank.

Is your question:

1. Do I believe there's a hidden cure for cancer?
2. Do I believe it's marijuana?
3. Do I believe there's a conspiracy by doctors, govt and all scientist to profit from pharmaceutical drug sales by suppressing the cure.

Answer to all of them is no if that's the case.... dont think anyone believes that.

Cannabis has been known to make malignant tumours produce whatever enzyme that breaks tissue down inside themselves.  Essentially making the cancer eat itself.
Rick Simpson had something like a 94% efficiency rating with topical application on skin cancers.  I'm not entirely certain exact numbers on other types but it was promising.  The US government stepped in and told him he wasn't a doctor and to stop treating people.
My question is why?  If he's helping people beat cancer and save lives why would anybody stop him?

There is more than one example of people dying because they couldn't get their medicine in states like California where certain cities can't make up their mind as to whether or not they'll follow the will of the people.  I don't see how it could be seen as anything but a conspiracy of asshats profiteering of the suffering of millions and disguising it as a ploy to 'save our moral fibre and our children'.  It's fucking poppycock, people that stand in the way of legalization should be put in prison. 
They can stop federal research at the moment, but science is on the side of Cannabis.

Hey you're preaching to the choir man. I'm in full support of legalization for medical and recreation use but I still dont think it's a "cure" for cancer. If I found out I had cancer I wouldn't rely on just marijuana if the doctor said I needed chemo, radiation or surgery......but that's just my opinion :shrug:

It's an effective treatment.  Actually go look up how many cancer patients it has helped.  Don't take anybody's word for it, do your own research!  Of course I'm not declaring a panacea but if it walks like a duck and fucking quacks...

Sure there's no federal research done to back it up because the DOJ won't give researchers cannabis to actually use in the research.  So any work done would have to be done with "illegal" cannabis.  It's bullcrap, and if you buy into it you might as well start bleating with the rest of the sheeple.

pharmaceutical companies actively suppress lots of drugs, it's a profit driven industry and corruption is rampant.
My dad used to work for a major one protecting their secrets and info in general.
Those commercials you see on televisions where lawyers are like 'call us if you grew bitch tits on this drug'?
They are actually paid for by competing pharmaceutical companies that are hoping to effectively slander the named drugs and drive people away from them.

It scares me deep down to think how far Nancy Reagan got embedded into our culture.  People are too afraid to even talk amongst themselves for fear of being turned in by their neighbor. 
That's why forums like this and across the internet are going to change the sociopolitical landscape.  Because people can talk to each other without fear of reprisal.

Hopefully people will wake up soon and realize the ridiculousness of the whole situation and at least let sick people grow their own medicine.

If these companies and governments really cared they would let people be happy with a choice that could be debated until their end, rather than torture them with meds that are far from perfect and annihilate any happiness to be had in those trying times.
