Any Spec. Ed teachers or Speech LNG Pthogist here?

I'm torn between majoring in Special Education grades 1-6 and Speech Language Pathology. I choose special Ed for my major to my transferring college and got accepted and I was/am very happy but I'm very indecisive- VERY! For some reason I'm not 100% sold on being a teacher, I just want to help kids who have disbailites.

I know I want to work with people who have special needs its not even a question, from just a mental disorder to very severe disabilities where they can't even talk or walk. I know this because I grew up really close to a farm that was an assisted therapy farm that I volunteered at since I was 8 and they taught hippotheapy lessons, a combo of occupational therapy, physical, and speech language pathology therapy with the use of a horse. and my brother is autistic and I did best buddies throughout high school, so I know for sure I want to work with the mentally and physically disabled population and I can handle it. I love it, it's my passion.

Anyways I'm torn between the two careers because I would love to teach and be an aide or a special Ed teacher, I love kids (especially those who need extra help), but the job market isn't so well for teachers. And as a SLP there's a lot of openings and they make about $69k a year vs spec Ed amd make about $45k average. Also I plan to live on a big farm one day and run an assisted riding farm of my own so having my degree in SLP would certify me to do hippotherapy lessons on my own. (While growing pot and mushrooms on another side of my farm, hehehehe)

Does anyone here have any advice or in/was in a similar situation as me? Or currently in either of the two fields? Is there a way maybe I can do both? My time is running out I need to pick a major I already have all my general Ed requirements and don't want to waste any time or money.
