were all based, in part, on the life of Ed Gein.

meet Ed Gein



Ed and his brother Harry were raised by their deviously religious domineering mother on a farm in Wisconsin. Ed's mother believed that sex was evil, so Ed never married. When his father, brother, and mother all died within five years of each other, Ed was left all alone in his big, old farmhouse.



when his mother died, Ed nailed her bedroom door shut and set out to remodel the rest of the house. since there was no Ikea around in his day, Ed resorted to visiting the local cemetary for his furnishing needs.
Ed made bowls from human skulls. He upholstered lampshades, waste baskets and an armchair with human skin. He had a belt made of nipples.
Ed had other interests aside from home remodeling. Ed was obsessed with becoming a woman. he would craft suits out of women's skin that he would wear around the house.



when his supply of fresh graves ran out, Ed took to murdering women of roughly the same age and appearance of his mother when she died.



Ed is known to have killed two women, Mary Hogan and Bernice Worden. It was never clear how many women Ed actually killed, as Ed could not recall himself.

I grew up a few towns away from Plainfield, WI. Where Ed Gein lived!
