What is the rarest animal that you've seen in the wild (nature)?

I've never really seen a rare animal, I need to get out there and live a bit.

Also whale shark - Honduras

Various other species of sharks, the most notable being a Tiger shark off the Florida Keys - most of my "big shark" experience is just black tip reef sharks, the rest are tiny little guys.

Wild Dolphins, not sure what species but they weren't bottlenosed dolphins and they were skittish, and fast as fuck, we saw a pod of them between dives and stopped the boat to hop in the water with snorkels and fins and they were gone in a flash.

Idk, I've seen a bunch of species during night dives that only come out after dark or come to that depth after dark.
Manta Rays, eagle rays, all kinds of rays, Honduras and Bonaire.

The vast majority of my exciting nature encounters have happened underwater.

edit:

oh wild flamingos, they were pretty cool. I can't think of any other really rare land animals.

I found a snake eating an undescribed species of lizard once, in FL.
It was hard to watch the snake devour this new species of lizard.
I found comfort in knowing that that lizard couldn't be here if it weren't for others, so likely there was much more than 1.

(I concluded this was a new species after 2 days of intense research, and the fact that neither the descriptions or photos of all native lizards [In FL and surrounding states] were not even similar in any way, even at different stages of growth.)

Other than that I've encountered a rare endangered species of small Deer in the FL Keys, the Key Deer.

Live horseshoe crabs. Manta Rays.

Basically just stuff in FL.

A wolf. In the woods by my old house when I was gathering leeks for supper.

A red fox on my drive home from work.

I few bear. On walks, in my front yard, and just on the side of the road walking into the forest. So I guess that's not as rare as the others but still pretty amazing to see.

Haha, a couple weeks ago I was driving out in the boondocks at night on an empty back road and I mistook one of those for a stray dog/puppy, slammed on the brakes, put my hazards on, and opened up my door to get out of my car and grab it before I realized it was a very startled fox.
