Re: Childish asshole piece of shit [Re: Konyap]

telling a child to leave a conversation and then ignoring their crying doesn't constitute any sort of abuse that i can see.

the OP just don't understand that little monsters with undeveloped brains don't behave like adults and aren't treated like adults.

You are conditioning them to be afraid of you how is that not terrible???

I feel sorry for you that you feel that way. That would have been a perfect opportunity to teach her about measurement and volume. She could have been anywhere from 4-6. I'm bad at judging that.

Anyway, all of that retarded shit about "the kid won't remember it" is false. You are interfering with their interpersonal development.

He fucking yelled at her for being completely reasonable.

All children are born PURE and INNOCENT. Parents' shortcomings can never change this truth.

Therefore it is more healthy to pity the children and despise the parents.

A child can be evil, but it is a development, not an inborn trait. Looking at evil as an inborn trait is clearly a Fascist and a Protestant viewpoint.

Maybe it's the way you wrote it, but I also do not think that sounds like a big deal.

She interrupted the conversation to make it about her, as four years olds will do, and he sent her inside. Sure he could have been nicer and not yelled goodbye, but you literally don't know a single thing about this guy, his daughter, or the day he was having. Every negative thing you wrote about him is an assumption; that he must have inherited the house because he's a hick, that he's probably an addict, and that he's an "evil monster" and a "childish asshole" for not letting his daughter interrupt him while he's conducting business.

Should he have bought her a pony to ride inside and told her that she was special for not knowing what a cubic yard is? We would love to hear more of your teenage wisdom on the art of raising a 4 year old...

Cool, dope bro.

I did spare details for the sake of brevity and perhaps I didn't convey the scene correctly and perhaps I did get very emotional about it. No one deserves to be treated like that. Would you do that to an adult? You can't pretend that kids aren't human.

I really wanted to use the word "push" instead of nudge, because it was a push and it was aggressive.

He was being very shitty towards his kid. I will be honest that I have met this guy in the past before when I bought large planter pots from his yardsale last year. His wife had a wrinkly face and raspy voice. They were smoking cigarettes and just being rude people. They seemed like addicts..... that's all I'm saying.

Back then they were both shitty with the kids. A boy and a girl. They just treat their kids like a giant headache and try to distance themselves from them.

Anyway, little kids NEED attention they are not independent people, they need to be dealt with in a healthy manner and learn how to reciprocate love.

It was a laid back conversation not a lucrative business deal. It was not important AT ALL. It was THE FIRST THING SHE SAID. I heard nothing out of her mouth other than that.

Don't give him your contact info, take the chips on Friday, then wait a couple days and call a child abuse hotline.
Give them his address and they'll probably interview the child or something so things can be sorted out if there really is a problem.
And he can't seek hick revenge because he has no clue where you are or how to reach you.
Idk, this is just what I would do

I didn't see anything bad here either. He could have worded it better, however I think it's important to teach children not to interrupt adults when they are having a conversation. Let's face it, grown-up talk is generally going to be more important than anything some toddler has to say. lol

The fact that the man stooped down to eye-level is actually a good sign. When you are being firm with a kid, it's much better to get down to eye-level with them so you seem less intimidating and more relatable to them.

Yeah, I could conceivably do that to an adult if they'd been a pest all day and were interrupting me. I've lost my patience with children before and acted in a comparable manner too. Maybe you're right and they're bad parents and people, or maybe you're just seeing stressed out people at the end of their wits, dealing with their children while running on fumes.

I expected to read something much worse given the thread title. All I see here are judgments and assumptions from someone who hasn't walked a foot in the other guy's shoes. It's easy to say how you would respond to a child when you get to drive away and not live with them.

it wasn't like he was maintaining eye contact to connect with his kid. he was getting in her face, that's what I was getting at. I am a very lazy writer.

How loud was he talking? Was he shouting or just speaking firmly? If he was just speaking firmly, then that is what you are supposed to do with children, if you are even disciplining them it's better to get to eye-level.

He was yelling. He was not simply giving stern directions. He was acting like one of those territorial kids that get angry when you touch their toys. I was so shocked at how brutal he was with her.

Sounds like you are fabricating or exaggerating this yelling part. In the original post you did not say he was yelling or even talking loudly. Talking sternly is not the same thing as yelling.
