need a DAW (music producers gtfih)
    #19755870 -

hey guys, im in need of a digital audio workstation that is:
i) free
ii) easy-to-use / user-friendly
iii) able to record, edit, and mix input from both a midi controller and usb microphone

ive been using audacity to mix with for a while, but unfortunately its not compatible with midi input, so im looking for something along the same lines that can get the job done (using windows btw)

want to try my hand at making some music but really dont wanna struggle too much with learning new software

pls halp

well i used to use fl studio but have recently switched to ableton and i like it much better. these programs are expensive to purchase tho and so you probably thinking hey i'd like to try this out before i buy it. well that's what the pirate bay is good for. there's no way i would have payed for ableton if i didn't go for a test drive first. if ur gonna stick with a daw tho, u should buy it, the developers work hard to make these tools available to us.

edit: to answer ur questions better, i'd start with fl studio if i was you because its a great place to learn the basic in an outs of a daw and if u decide to step up to ableton later a lot of the info u learned with fl will still apply

Fruity Loops seems to be the most common starting place for the inexperienced.

If you use TPB, like apollo343 said, you can also find tutorials that will teach you all the ins and outs of whatever DAW you decide to work with.

Fl studios has a lot to work with in the demo to give it a try and with a midi controller u can just about make music with ease with some practice. Prior to this its gonna be a daunting task to start with little knowledge but if u are not familiar with music theory I would start with that or ur just pressing buttons and hopeing
