Confirming Intelligent Alien Life or Immortality?

If you could choose from being Immortal, or being the first and only human person, on the earth, with irrefutable evidence that confirms that there are intelligent aliens... Basically you meet ET and can prove it, become famous, etc...


Which would you choose?

If the immortality is escapable (I can choose to kill myself and end it) then I choose that. Otherwise, the alien thing

i'd try immortal, it seems more plausible to have some sort of massive life extension or immortality than making contact w/ aliens (which are undoubtably in existence, just seriously fuckin' far away), and being the first immortal would make you pretty damned "famous" if that was your trip (not mine)....

I think you mean irrefutable, plenty of people have refutable evidence of ET, it would suck to be the only one, people would just think your crazy. Immortality would potential suck once you're all alone, if you could still die a violent death, just wouldn't age, it wouldn't be bad. 
I'd have to pick immortality anyhow I'm too curious to pass up the chance to see all the future that's still to come and ET encounters are pretty much guaranteed eventually.  If the universe has a cold death that would be pretty shitty, an eternity in endless cold darkness.  A hot death wouldn't be too bad, I don't know how you'd continue to survive when there's no matter but if you made it through you'd get to see a whole new universe from the beginning. It'd be like being god.
Given an infinite life time couldn't you reach a sort of internal nirvana, you'e no longer be a part of samsara as much as those who attain the usual enlightenment and aren't reborn.
