exactly, I fully agree. But maybe something that could have dealt with an actual apocalypse in the first millenium (fall of Rome, maybe) could now, in modern times, have a real spiritual impact as a personal apocalypse. We are all historical beings, unless that has somehow been transcended.

That would be externalizing the event just the same why is it even important whether or not a catastrophic event happens, inevitably there will be catastrophes and the individual will most likely miss all of them. On the other hand no one misses the personal catastrophe of death

History has documented well how unreliable these predictions are, they're so unreliable that prophesying about an event may well alter the laws of physics and prevent it from happening

OUR nature of "Time" in the 24-hour sense is based upon our hours of daylight, etc... but that does not mean TIME does not exist.

And I have no idea what OP is talking about with the government and geoengineering.  We can't even drill down to the Earth's tectonic plates so there is no way to force movement of them, or even be able to see exactly where two plates meet.

If a tsunami happens, it's because of chance, not some vision.  And especially not because of the government.
