Social media tigers of The Pub, let's all turn this sympathetic lil microcharity into a Big Thing * 2

I was alerted to a tiny lil legit microcharity called Circus Tamasamu, its 2 people with an acrobatics & yoga background who want to set up a circus project for poor kids in a remote village in Kenya.

The goal isnt just to rescue a few underprivileged kids in a village in one of the poorest nations of the world from boredom, but also to help them make the most out of their lives and develop the village while at it. They want to do this by crowdfunding.

All very sympathetic and grassroots, check the youtube vid or the website, its all pretty awesome.

Yah, but unfortunately its also pretty much doomed in its current state :makesmecry:

If you make a donation you see that they have a donations goal of $50,000, but so far they have received, every cent accounted for, $1,176, only 10 people donated substantially and the donations deadline is 1 month to go.
So far less than 97 people Liked it on Facebook and 2 people Tweeted it. Yah :frown:

Pub, this is a call to arms! Y'all are on Facebook and Twitter and social networks like that, lets spend some time not checking what our friends had for dinner or Liking peoples cat pics, lets do something great with good karma for all.

They have a charming, clear, functioning website with a good pay and scorekeeping system, they have a wellmade youtube video that shows they got their stuff together. All the elements for a hype are there.

Lets all see if we can make this into a Big Thing. Lets see if we can make the Likes and Tweets and ultimately their donations soar to staggering heights, so that its on par with important stuff like the color of george clooney's underpants or what a really cute girl had for dinner last night.

Lets see if we can turn this tiny, currently doomed but perfectly good microcharity into a hype of outrageous proportions, and see if we can max out the likes, tweets and donations counter.

If not for those kids who have very little to look forward to currently, then for good oldfashioned Internet Lulz and a sense of personal accomplishment.

Lets hype the living daylights out of this tiny project and see what we can do here.

not so big on your polls, but whats up Wiccan? i dunno if you know it or if Ive ever actually said it, but your wisdom has saved my life on so many occasions.  I remember when I started smoking meth a lot you warned me about it and ofc I ignored it.  but you were right, it took over my life.

for the most part I quit doin the stuff.  in the past two years I've done it twice.  I've been trying to quit doing opiates for even longer than that.  unsuccessful as that venture has been, I decided to get put on subutex.  I know its still an opiate but at least its legal and I will never run out of my supply.

Well Hi to you too :grin:  Things are pretty good all in all, thank you :hug: I'm glad things are looking up for you and hey, if the subutex prevents a relapse its worth its weight in gold. If it keeps you on the wagon and doesnt escalate, its no biggie.

Give em a frisbee a pair of running shoes and a bobsled but don't turn em into Carnies. They'll be worse off than they are now. :psycrankey: Wican I know you mean well but there are better ways to help these kids than putting them in a circus/carnival. So my stal just turned to a NO.
