even the unsolveable ones

This is an entirely different way of solving PDEs. It also shows a very deep, powerful, connection between PDEs and brownian motion.

+1 Feynman is awesome, I love physics so much. They enthrall me... Especially this, seriously:datass:

ANd i absolutely love the abstract way in qhich physicists view matter, on the quantum level. It's a total other way of looking at it that makes complete sense and yet it still changes you're entire view on the world of matter and what you can see with your own eyes..

One of his biggest achievements was disproving our IQ notion of intelligence.

James Gleik, author of 'Chaos: Making a new Science', wrote a biography on him titled 'Genius', and he wasn't (even? <- :roll eyes:) in Gifted in school.

WTF?

Man I loved that fire one. Trees come from the air and sky... Mind blown.

This thread is such a flawless victory.

Feynman took lsd, that is enough reason for me to take it

must have been a bad trip when he invented qcd, depth overload

it doesn't really stand well with the idea that "we will never know everything in the world"(pic in OPs post)
qcd is about knowing -everything- there is, down to matter itself and beyond, everything there is, everything we see

where do the borders of physics go? are there no borders?

should we seek ultimate knowledge?

I bet half of the people who try to understand qcd/qm go crazy, too much information

there is a good rule of thumb, don't try to understand qm, just calculate

soon it will take a lifetime to train a physicist due to the complexity increasing, they will never be able to work

I didn't know he came out with a new one... Gonna have to read me some "information" :aweyeah:

You should read Chaos by him. Changed my life and I went from a B/C math student to a high A's one just because it made math interesting.

I can't believe I haven't posted in here yet. I'm a huge Feynman fan (who isn't, so long as they've actually heard of him). I have, "Surely You Must Be Joking Mr. Feynman" but haven't read it yet. I mostly just watch videos of him on YouTube and read about his work online. I am going to check out that Chaos book though, thanks for the tip. Plus I'm going to go back and watch all the videos in this thread.

Was looking into quantum mechanics and came across Feynman. Wonderful infos from that man. Shame there are few scientists like him.

Hmm, I'll see what I can do, but it's on the back of my thigh, so it'll be a pretty awkward picture.

Just to note, it's all black/grey (like the Tesla that can be seen on the bottom), the redness is just irritation, the picture was taken right after we finished.

I'll try to take a photo with this thread in the background.

Best I could do. My camera is dead so all I have is my phone, and trying to get this angle by myself is a bit difficult. Hopefully this makes it believable.

Also, you should get to reading 'Surely You're Joking Mr. Feynman'. It's pure gold. Don't let it just collect dust.
