Shamanism
    #19491560 -

Hello beautiful people. I was just wondering who feels called or is currently walking a shamanic path with entheogens. It is something I have felt for awhile but I don't really know anyone else.

I feel that your location has a lot to do with your role as a shaman.
If you live in a culture that does not recognize/care about shamans then you will be considered crazy.
If you live somewhere that mystics are respected then you will probably have a much more peaceful life.

Definitely relate to how you feel. I don't have to trip to experience the spirit world anymore. This has made assimilating back into the "real world" to be quite difficult.

It is choosing to torture yourself.. wouldnt give it up for anything.

I'm called.

I hate shamanism. Read too many bullshit books written by imaginative liars, these descriptions of intense real experiences only gave false hope to this depressed youth with no self esteem. I read and read and did all these shitty practices and nothing ever happened. Now apparently I'm even doing some 'healing' practices on the job (a typical druggie fuck up drop out job - personal care giver). It has become the most hated/I feel like a total fraud/please let me go and do some real work like making food and housework part of the job. I'm 100% convinced that nothing spiritual/healing is happening at all. I've seemed to connect with spirits/ancestors and what have you, during both intense paranoia and or euphoria and each time this is followed by total regression into old patterns of suicidal depression, no direction, no energy to get out and find a real adventure, isolation, no social advantages.

I would have been better off reading about real adventures that happen on this material level, even to have joined the army or a foreign legion would have been better. As for adults/teachers/role models/culture, what a fucking bunch of retards.

There's a real world?  It's all shamanic to a real shaman. :jimmorrison:

Shamanism, I think, is about walking that brink, and be strong enough to live with it, and smile.

Yes, committing genocide and mindlessly murdering other people would have almost certainly been better than indulging shamanism.

I do agree with you Trippinghighman.Your not the only one my friend. It seems if I try to tell people about how ducked up this world is. They won't listen. I also think shamanism has something to do with awakening your penal gland. But some people's are calcified due to the toxins in our Goverment approved shit. Everyone is God. All parts of a whole to make something bigger. Existence is a loop of nothingness.

True

Shamanism is very hard work if you want to go all the way

if you want to go all the way, it will alienate you from most people, alienate you from the ability to live a "normal life"

if you learn from nature often, you might have begun a shamanic path

the world is in need of shamans/love/soul, if you have the ability, use it
soul retrieval is the primary thing in shamanism I think, if you can retrieve your own soul first you might be able to help others too

soul loss happens to us all to varying degrees

I live by the ocean and found a pretty cool mental exercise to train myself with.

I'll sit on the sand gazing out at the water and just meditate.
Then I'll convince myself that I can't go into the water. Almost as if it's too cold or something. Once I am completely convinced that I can't go into the water, I begin to break the fear down and just dive in.

This probably doesn't seem all that impressive to anyone else, which makes sense because it's all about MY mind. No one can see the fear that I've built up and destroyed.
But for me it's very liberating. It gives me a lot of confidence.

Too bad it's way too cold for the water this time of year..

That book didn't change me.  I'd rather get the acid.

Re: Shamanism [Re: dukkahwarrior]

From the time I was 18 until the time I was about 23 I was very interested in Shamanism and access to the spirit world.  I hate to use the term 'Kundalini Awakening' but it seems that after a 15 gram cubensis trip my crown and third eye burst open with a pop and I was surrounded by spirits talking.  Contact.  A true awakening to another level of understanding with 'them' the other.  I wasn't sure if it was all in my imagination or if they were people who could leave their bodies or if they were in fact spirits of some kind.

Since all that I was medicated and hospitalized numerous times.  I'm off the antipsychotics thank god!

I was stuck in a metaphorical language of obscure meaning that didn't make sense to others.

I was diagnosed bipolar then schizoaffective.

I heard the call.  I got into the idea and real results happened for me.  But...

THERE ARE EVIL BEINGS OUT THERE

And just like the serpentine energy that might work its way up your spine they force their way up into your body and mind control you with direct influence over the mind and body.  They can generate specific emotions and hold you in trances that are mistaken for mental illnesses.

I've made contact but I'm no healer.  I'm in direct perception of entities that are with me everywhere I go.  And when I move into a new area for a visit there are new populations of beings to interact with.

Careful.  Keep it all positive.  I know some joke about the shadow but the evil inside and out in this world is very real.
