Well, I saw this one guys terrium that had tried the vasoline, and it somewhat worked. At first it keeps the water droplets off completely. But after awhile (2 weeks or so) some do begin to accumulate, I'm not sure if he needs to add more vasoline or what, but some does manage to stick to the vasoline. It's not as much as if you didn't have vasoline, so I guess it's worth it. A drip shield in my opion is a waste. It takes away from the surface area were potential cakes could be. But if you don't have many, it may be the way to go.

Just use a drip shield, That is what my buddy uses and it works just fine. I would think it would be alot less messy also.

If someone were to cover there tarrium lid with vasiliene it would not let water dropplets accumulate there? even if it was flat? with no drip shield?
