Purposelessness

Long word, perhaps suitable for a feeling that casts a long shadow. I find that lately my life lacks purpose. I recently relocated to another state where my family resides after going through a separation from my wife. Since I've been here I've just been partying like I was in my 20's( I'm 45). it is the only thing that makes me feel alright, but then the next day comes with a truckload of hangover and psychological baggage which falls on me upon opening my eyes. I mainly lurk on tinfoil hat websites that just show how fucked up America and the world is. Man it's kind of rough out there anymore, it's easy to want to just stay fucked up and not think too hard, but you can't live that way all the time. And then there is the depression that comes back hard at times. i just feel like now that i have moved out of state my life lacks purpose. I had a wife and a dog but decided it wasn't enough for me and left, and now I'm just a guy trying to live like he was 21 again and deal with all this emptiness.
Anyone else feel that you are dealing with this corroding feeling of lack of purpose in your life when you once had it?

I haven't found my purpose yet even though I have seen more of the world than many, and traveled around the sun some 30 times. Maybe just being here on this Earth is my purpose. That's probabbly just a cop out though. But maybe not, maybe all of our lives are purposeless.

Meditation in mindfulness and contentment could be a balm for the soul.
Or it could be burrying your head in the sand.

I suggest distancing yourself from the kookoo websites, I've been down that road; that shit can make you crazy as fuck.  :tinfoil:

If it was you that left your wife and dog because that life wasn't enough for you than you need to get out there in the world and start doing stuff. Live bigger, plant roots and establish yourself somewhere, or spiral out-- travel the world. Give away all of your posesions and see where the winds will take you maybe, I dunno.

I'm sure you recognize this: partying like a teenager isn't living big. It is just partying, and there is no mystery there.

Your toying with a greater question. "What is the meaning of life," is a question that has been long unanswered. Maybe there isn't one? Maybe you have to find your own? And really, if the question was already answered, then there really wouldn't be a point to life. It's like somebody spoiling the end of a movie. If you know the answer, you might as well invest your time elsewhere.

Blaze one and chill, hopefully that's my purpose cause I'm pretty fuckin good at it :stoned:
