To get a good idea how to grow you'd want to read everything you possibly can, there are really no laid in stone teks for cannabis like there is mushrooms. There's a billion ways you could do it and they're all involved and they all have many variations to them.

Read read read everything everywhere.

And no a fluoro 12 hours on wouldn't work well.

Yeah, cannabis cultivation information is readily available all over the internet. Do as everyone else suggested and read everything you possibly can and compile the information in your mind and go with what sounds the most productive, then experiment like hell once you get a good knowledge base.

24 hours on for vegetative growth, flowering photoperiod is a bit more variable, with 12/12 being standard. Water it when the top inch or so of soil is dry. Research! Erowid.org is always a great place to start.

Just because there are TEK's for shrooms I see people are asking for teks for everything these days

Well when I was young(I always had an intrest in entheogens) I read all sorts of pot growing info, and grow guides(TEKS, if you want to call them that) and many books

and know I can grow pot, really good pot to

not that I do......ahem

anyway, you canm even look up a book by ED rosenanl online , the marijuana growers handbook I belive, and if you want a book

get Indoor Marijuana horticulture(aka..the indoor bible)
what a fucking book...my fav part is the awsome drawings and list of what to look for if you give to much or to little ferts , bug problems etc etc

You need to read through Overgrow growfaq. It can teach you more than most books, and help you grow excellent marijuana. As far as lighting 24 hour for veg. 18/6 is useless unless you have lights that get very hot. 12/12 is best for flower. You can grow a very nice crop with fluorescents only , but you are better off getting an HID (MH or HPS) from a home improvement or lighting depot.

mntlfngrs and Remy are spot on. I would use 110watt cool white fluorescent light for vegg it has that blue spectrum light for the vegg stage and you can get them as close as you want to the top of the plant, without burning it. Then a 250watt or higher H.P.S. for flower these H.P.S lights get very hot and has that red spectrum light you need to flower. good place to get lights is www.growel.co.uk but look around don't buy the first light you see you want to get a good deal. you can even make you own, real cheap. As far as the light goes you can do a 24 hours of constant light, this will make the plant vegg (just grow and grow No Buds) I would do 18/6 light my self as there isn't really any noticeable growth difference in the 24 and 18/6. Then when you want to get some stinky mouth watering buds go straight 12/12 the plant will grow three times it's size, so if you got a 1 foot tall plant you will end up with 3 foot tall plant. IF you need anymore help just pm me or what ever and I'll do my best to help.

dannycorona82 this should help you out with the cost.

I'd advise you to buy a book on growing. It's definately well worth the expense.
