Cool! It levels out your blood sugar and stops false hunger from setting in. It truly is a great way to eat.

I find that I can actually do more if I am fit. I think the time spent on exercise is worth it that way. I lost a fair bit of weight by tuning into my body needs - asking myself all the time what I need, rather than what I want, and what will keep me from being hungry to the next meal. Sometimes it was an orange and other times it was a lasagne but all in all I ate less. Eg. If you need a peanut butter sandwich but tell yourself it is too fattening, eat the whole fridge and then finally eat the peanut butter sandwich and feel satisfied - just eat the peanut butter sandwich in the first place. I reckon if you keep a tab on the amount of fat you eat (don't eliminate it completely), exercise, keep up the protein (triggers signals to the brain that you are full) eat what you need and don't deprive yourself (sure way to make yourself think about and crave food) - you are bound to lose weight! I know this advise isn't completely conventional, but it worked for me.

aight, I'll help you with this.

If you want to do it the easy "sit back" way THEN eat foods with LOW CARBS and HIGH PROTEIN

Some examples. DRINK SKIM MILK if you drink whole milk.

Look at the nutritional facts and however much protein is in something SUBTRACT that from how many carbs are in it AND that's REALLY how many carbs are in it. NOW IF YOU EAT ONLY PROTEIN then of course you'll lose weight a lot faster since you're not storing energy, carbs.

Understand so far?

Eat WHEAT if you're gonna have bread OR BETTER YET DON'T EAT BREAD. IT'S LOADED with carbs. Goto the foodstore and get EGGBEATERS egg whites and make yourself eggs. The yoke contains all the fat. Stop eating cheese. Steak is good every now n then. But JUST LOOK AT THE NUTRITIONAL FACTS AND AVOID HIGH CARBS And if you can get foods with more protein than carbs.

If you do this then your body will stop storing more fat than you can burn.

Good luck

OR take a kickboxing fitness class.

thanks for all the advice. I think people were misunderstanding me, I do exercise, but I dont have enought time do really do any serious exercise, any more than acouple of laps running around the block and gym class. I have benn eating alot less, and the "10 pushups every time you stand up" is a good idea, ill definetly try that. Peace.

I think that the Atkins diet is the best method to loose and feel better at the same time. More energy, better sleep at night and just an overall better frame of mind. It goes against everything we were told about nutrition but I believe that carbs are what pack on the pounds!

ATKINS! All the fucking way, Atkins, man.

Just be sure to get tons of vegetable fiber or else you'll get more constipated than Renton from Trainspotting.

I lost 35+ pounds in 2 months on it, completely amazing. Just to go to Http://www.Atkins.com .

Nooooooo, never touch a drop of milk. Way too much sugar. Cheese is perfectly fine. Eggs are fine, eat as much as you want.

The big baddies are pasta and bread. I found a bakery nearby that makes specially produced low carb bread. Only 5 grams per slice, with 4 fiber grams each. (Which means on Atkins that you can eat like 30 slices and not worry.)

man o man...i eat fairly healthy, im well aware of what i put in my body and it feels good for me to eat good. But common, dont you guy's think its obsessive counting calories and cutting out pleasurable things out of your diet to meet some standard?

Walk some more, cut out the artificial junk. If its from the earth and it doesnt have pesticides or hormone's...your probably alright.
Really, that advice, and some motivation to be healthy are all most people really need to be healthy.

as a wrestler, losing weight kinda comes with the package. in high school, during football season i would be about 190, to 200 lbs. (i played line backer) but duing wrestling season, i would cut to 152, except my senior yr i went 160. now i lost this weight in the corse of about 2 to 3 months....thats the only part of wrestling i didnt like. it was tough for me, because there were 4 really good guys at the start of the season all roughly the same weight. for us all to go varsity, we had to move around the different weight classes...and it was easiest for me so i went the furthest.

it is easy to lose weight, though most of the methods i used were far from the "right way" , i have learned what not to do.

the quickest short term way to lose weight is water weight. very unhealthy and you gain it all back the second you rehydrate. i was 12 lbs over my weight class the day before my first match of the season my senior year. i sweat it off by running a shit load that night (with my plastic sweats on of corse) then spent about 4 hrs in the sauna at the gym the next morning, pluss i was on my 3rd day of no food, and 2nd with no water. the day after the match, i was back up to 10 lbs over (after eating and drinking) only to start the cycle all over again.i sure dont miss those days! lol

anyway, losing weight is simple. use more calories than you take in. if your not gonna excersize, no need to fast, just eat less. fasting does mess with you metabolosm, but it has been my experience that if you gradually knock down your portions of food over a period of time, thats not really an issue. how can you be so busy that you cant find the time to excersize one hour out of the day? wake up an hour earlier and go running....or perhaps before you go to bed?

i have a hard time buying the fact that you dont have any time. with as much time i spent at practice, school, studying, work, etc.... i always found the time to do my own excersizing. but then again i guess i felt i had to, i mean i had to make weight...  and of corse thats just me....anyway good luck

Cutting out simple carbs is by far the healthiest way to eat. Most foods that contain alot of simple carbs are overly processed and stripped of important nutrients anyway.

You do not have to count calories on the atkins program. It stabalises the blood sugar and satiates the appetite.

The first week is hard. After that its easy.

BTW, a laboratory in canada tested meat that came from cows that had been injected with growth hormones and antibiotics. They found no trace of anything.

All im saying is that you shouldnt have to follow a diet, if you eat things that grow and arnt processed, and drink water rather than...everything else, you will be healthy.
