Should be in OTD as it has no relevance to this forum whatsoever.

Yeah the atkisn diet does have relevance, but a stupid cartoon doesn't say much.

Atkins has many sound principles by the way. It has been improved over the years with other diets, but it is still effective.

I didn't click on the link but i know the sheer amount of protein(forget the fat for now) that those people consume on Atkins is an enourmous strain on the kidneys. Kinda funny how a bunch of lard asses are consuming almost as much protein as someone actively engaged in body building

Best diet ever: Mainly fruit and veggies with a limited amount of non fattening carbs like brown rice, whole wheat bread etc with a bit of meat(preferably lean or chicken/fish) thrown in

Hey Looner, how's it going mang?
Nobody is disputing(i don't think) that in sheer terms of losing weight with little or no physical excercise, Atkin's works, no doubt. All I am suggesting is that in terms of overall health and conditioning there are much better and healthier ways to travel

All diets are faulty because they instill a sense of restraint and loss in the person undertaking it. This will-power technique is a red herring because you may lose weight initially but you will always go back to your usual eating habits because you are still under the illusion that their was any pleasure in eating unhealthily in the first place. Changing ones diet with correct understanding of nutrition and social conditioning (brainwashing) is the only way to lose weight permenantly without restraint.

I don't really feel any sense of self restraint man. Eating fruit and veggies ruhlz  And if i feel like falling off the wagon for a few days(as was the case this week) pigging out on burger's, onion rings and pizza isn't going to upset the apple cart. I might gain 3 or 4 pounds only to lose it within the next few days. Of course regular cardio is a factor in my life as well, usually 1 and a half hours to 3 hours a day so i can pretty much burn off any junk food that i eat

I went from 170 to @ 150-155 a year and a half ago and there has been no yo yo effect at all except for the aforementioned recent pigging out
