Thinking of watching a movie or writing up a informational thing for the folks on here. Was really in the mood but during my last HW assignment and 3rd glass of mead my desire went :thumbdown:

Depends on the mead. There's sweet meads and dry meads. Just depends on the amount of fermentation that takes place.

the rum is working for me again. I did once make a kick ass batch of salmonberry mead that balanced out well with the sweetness of the honey and sour from the berries. anything store bought is too sweet for me, but then I like rum...

Unfortunately I will not be tasting my own mead for another few years due to the probation. Dont wanna keep 5-10 gallons aging in my basement while my P.O is allowed to visit randomly.

Uzziel, Mead is the original alcohol. Basic mead is Honey, Water and Yeast but honeys affinity to flavors allows unlimited possibilities and there are different types just like wine. And the color/flavor determines the best serving temperature just like wine.

Im just drinking some store bought from the  winery close by. Its not too bad and for 6$ a bottle I cant complain. I Wonder if there is a maple syrup based alcohol...hmmm That sounds like it would be so dope, I can literally drink pure Grade A amber. I will not touch any of that imitation bullshit.

I had some funky ass beer one time that was fermented with maple syrup. I think it was some monstrosity that Sam Adams made as like a collector's deal back in the 90's. It was fucking awful.

I had a beer brewed with maple syrup last night, and it was great, but I'd imagine you have to like that style of beer.

I think distilling maple syrup would taste like rum too. It has probably been done :shrug:
Lots of avid home-distillers
Really good rum tastes a bit like maple syrup in itself :drooling:

I have a maple liqueur that someone gave me that's pretty good, but it wasn't actually fermented with the maple syrup. It's just whiskey with the maple syrup added after distillation.
