I guess it all depends on how you say it. My uncle calls me chief sometimes, but he's big into Halo so he got it from there, but if some stranger called me chief I would probably take offense.

This one boss of mine called me boss and my left boss hit this boss so hard he hit the floor and went through the floor boards. Ain't no one calling this boss a boss bitches.

P.s. if you take offense to being called boss and expect them to change their attitude, aren't you actually a literal boss who deserves to be called boss sarcastically?
