I don't think "it's a personal choice" is a very fitting way to describe the fact that 7 year olds are prescribed (and therefore use) amphetamines

Fair enough. I agree. I was just stating that it's fucked up how Dr's prescribe pills to people that don't need them. I'm sure 99% of 12 year olds that were prescribed ADD/HD medicine didn't ask for medicine. You get what I'm trying to say?

Again, I think it's fucked that amphetamines are prescribed to minors. I think we really need to move away from this practice. However, the fact remains that some people actually have ADD/ADHD and stimulants are actually a good medication for this disorder.

It needs to be understood that children behave erratically, and their behavior should be as unregulated as possible. This is in line with our national values of freedom and individuality. Americuh, fuck yeah.

I recommend ayahuasca to help get off the meds :thumbup:

I think amphetamine is a shitty drug. Concentration and motivation can be cultivated with discipline. The stimulants won't solve anything especially long term.

Seriously, I did this technique and it was MUCH easier than trying to quit cold turkey (which I did numerous times to no avail.)

Been about a year since my last vyvanse and I would never touch the shit again.

I wasn't counting but seems it's been 21 days. Caved today and took a 75mg vyvanse I found lying in my room, was pretty tired from a long day of drinking and smoking, didn't want another day at work to be a complete drag...

Once again I'm motivated, awake, and alert; I feel so much more clear headed. It sucks how attached I am to this damn medication, without it I don't have the motivation or drive to tackle my ADD using other methods. I turned into a complete bum again the passed 21 days.

This is sorta a rant, and just to remind myself how evil this drug is. I have become completely reliant on it, not only that but there has undoubtedly been negative long term side effects. Good thing is I will no longer have any readily available to take, so I really have to get serious if I want to rid myself of amps.

Thanks for some of the suggestions guys. I really want to give nootropics a try, so if you have any knowledge on them please enlighten me. Looks like DMAE is getting pretty popular, has me curious :strokebeard:.

Well this is a shameful bump, anyone else out there strugglin?

sorry to hear you're struggling zee. i wasn't prescribed amps that young but i was on ssris and heavy sleeping pills from a young age. it really sucks, but not to the extent of a 7 year old being given amphetamines. That blows my fucking mind. My parents were always against the amps and I  decided to go on them myself in my late teens

imo, the only way for me to use amphetamines "regularly" is in low therapeutic doses every other day, max. It's a happy medium between giving it up entirely and giving in to ever growing tolerance(and feeling stimmed up all day every day), also if you reinforce good habits on the days you skip then you are actually doing something to treat you adhd.

seriously, it makes me so angry that meds are being touted as cures or treatment. it's a fucking bandaid, at best it's a tool to be used in conjunction with other treatment. but no psychiatrist of GP has ever done anything but hand me scripts. I highly suggest, if you have the insurance/means, to find a therapist who is experienced in treating add, they'll help fill in the blanks that the meds don't reach.

No, but good luck man, if you ever feel the urge just drink a beer and preoccupy yourself. I've never been addicted to stims long term so I don't know how long craving it lasts, but that seems like what I'd do. Whenever I do vyvanse its once in a while and when I come down I'm like "I'm never doin that shit again". I even don't really like Molly because of the comedown, I think I get them worse than the average person I'm not sure.
