I meant hes a different person than what he should be because he has lots of social problems, which is what I said before that quote you took out. Why the fuck would you assume thats what I meant that wouuldnt even make any sense.

I had more social problems before I got on my meds. I still have social problems, but fewer. I'd also had more social problems before I got on my meds than I'd ever had in Kindergarten.

Just because youre naturally a weird fuck doesnt mean everyone is the same, I didnt even say it was fact, I just told him "In my opinion" that he is different today because of how long hes been on those medsa and because of my view on what those pills do long term over years of using while the brain is still developing.

Youre pretty smart and good at reading things in their correct context arent you? :rofl:

I'm just sayin', I'm not the only weird fuck out there. Though I do agree it's pretty fucking questionable to administer these pills to children. I'm glad I waited till I was 23 to make that decision, glad I had parents who defended the sanctity of my developing brain against prevailing trends, because they'd have had me on that shit by the time I was twelve. That doesn't alter the fact that OP just might be better off with his meds.

I didnt mean to come off as a dick I just felt kind of like you were attacking what I said and mis interpreting what I was saying, which I guess is what kind of happened but I didnt mean to sound like an ass.

I personally think they should be 18+ for these meds. You cant drink alcohol till your 21 but a 7 year old can take speed daily?

I agree that it's unscrupulous to give amphetamine to minors, but amphetamine at the medical dosage has far fewer documented side-effects than alcohol. :shrug:

Im not talking about side effects. Even if we were, id say low doses of amphetamine daily would have more side effects than low dose alcohol daily.. I mean some people even drink a cup of red wine daily for health. Youre kind of comparing low dose amphetamine use daily to someone getting drunk everyday. Low dose alcohol like 1/2 shot a day or 1 cup of wine a day would have very little side effects compared to daily use of low amounts of amphetamine.

A glass of wine a day keeps cancer and diabetes at bay. A pill of amphetamine a day keeps the amotivation at bay. IME both are relatively absent of serious side effects.

On what basis do you say this? Have you ever taken a consistent dose of amphetamine for over a year? There are side-effects such as loss of appetite initially, but they quickly disappear. Meanwhile amphetamine continues to provide the benefits of increased focus and motivation. It's very good for some people. The fact that these people are a minority does not justify the assumption that OP is not part of that minority.

this is just another case of people arguing that a more prevalent drug (alcohol) is "better" then an arguably SCARIER & "MORE DANGEROUS" drug (amphetamines), and there being no clear logical reason for the discussion.

Haha I know.. I was just close to hiding this thread. Whether or not you have ADD/ADHD, you "need" the meds as much as an average person "needs" caffeine.

Growing up I remember so many kids that were RX'd ADD/ADHD meds at 10-12 years old. It just makes me wonder why so many kids were being diagnosed with something that might of just been these kids were extra energetic or couldn't focus because they were bored in school.

I look at this the same way as the Valium homemaker epidemic in the 60's when thousands of middle aged house wives were being prescribed valium because they were "stressed out."

I know they are completely different situations, and I'm sure a small percentage of 12 year old kids actually do need these meds, but what did kids do before these drugs were around? I'm pretty sure they grew up just fine without having to take pills every day. Just my 2 cents.

The side-effects of both are negligible. Binging on either is bad, but responsible use of either or both is good. Amphetamine is still prescribed today because of this fact.

Dude I gave you the benefit of the doubt, but now I cant take you seriously.. Now your talking about binging? Its a simple question, do you honestly think 1 cup of red wine daily is "Far worse" (Your words earlier) than daily use of ADD medicine as far as the side effects.. Go ahead and find a list of side effects for a daily cup of red wine, it wont be nearly as long as what I could find about ADD meds.

Thats what we are talking about, everytime you post you bring up something different so that I forget about what im calling you out on. The list of benefits from a daily cup of red wine out weigh the negatives, thats why its considered healthy, no one is taking add medicine for health lol.. Its to treat something, not because its physically healthy.

I admitted I might have been wrong by stating that the side-effects of both are negligible.

ADHD medication is in fact very physically healthy for the people who are able to take better care of themselves under its influence. I am one of those people and OP might be as well.

We werent really talking about which is better or anything likethat, we were talking about which had more side effects, low dose add meds or low dose alcohol in the form of a cup of red wine daily. I was just kind of confused when he said red wine would have far more side effects.
