hmmm, well it felt like I was very close to death.. but this whole thing is besides the point. If you do some research, vasoconstriction can occur from a binge of ADD/ADHD medication. Not that I have ever experience it, but it's a possibility

Agree with everything BS is saying.

You're blaming your ADHD meds for so many of your life problems despite the fact that they are actually well researched in comparison to the research chems you're taking too much of (if you feel like you're dying physically, it's too much)?

None of this is actually directly related to your meds. You've been taking them since second grade, you said you were more motivated before. You're claiming that they didn't impact your motivation until after jr. high? This doesn't make any logical sense.

The drugs are not what is causing you motivation problems, they're actually prescribed to improve motivaiton/focus. It sounds like you want a scapegoat, you feel your life is out of control and it must be caused by some outside force. If anything, I'd look at the drugs that impact your motivation the most which would be stuff you use recreationally (for most people). ADHD meds don't make you unhappy, they don't take away your willpower or motivation. They can certainly contribute to those problems, but the drugs alone are NOT the cause and assuming that not taking the drugs anymore will fix your problems is a mistake.

Similar situation here. Before adderall/dexedrine/ritalin (I tried all three, they all helped, but ultimately found dexedrine the best) I failed out of every science class I took, but when I got on them there was a Midas effect where the D's/F's turned into A's and B's.

Speed gets a really bad rap, especially in the psychedelic community, but it can do really good things for some people, and if you don't abuse it the side-effects are pretty minimal compared to the benefits. I went through years of ups and downs with it, hoping to be able to quit it someday, but I've made my peace with it. The decision to study science is among the best I've ever made. I know from many years of experience that I'm constitutionally incapable of studying science without speed. So, I take speed. And I'm okay with that. Sometimes I wish I'd gotten on it years earlier. It's not an addiction, it's more of a chemical dependency-- sort of like how I'm dependent on my glasses to see. I just need to remember to take breaks when I get the chance and to find ways to regulate my intake. I've largely succeeded in these pursuits-- I just took a month-and-a-half summer break, and my roommate is happy to hold onto my shit so I don't go overboard. Now I'm back on my meds and getting ready for the new semester quite well. The complete absence of any tolerance has led to a destroyed appetite but this will pass in a couple days. Better living through chemistry.
