hahaha. you will not get 6 ounces from 12 cakes.
you will get probably between 0 and 60 grams. i'd estimate something like 40 or 50 if they all grow well.

you still might get half that if you're lucky... spawning the cakes to some poo or straw, then casing that, would yeild some pretty kickass weight though.

I have no idea why your estimates are so low, but even 50 grams from 12 healty cakes would be a terrible yield. SWIM averages 8-9 grams per cake in just the first two flushes, and if kept would probably produce another 1/2 gram on the third flush. These are the B+'s SWIM grows, the South Africans he tried produced about 6-7 grams per cake in 3 flushes and are about 1/3 less potent than the B+'s. I wonder if my B+'s are better than others somehow. (Edit: I mean better than other B+'s, that they are better than Transkei there is no doubt.) To get these yields SWIM doesn't really do anything special. He uses the 1/4-1/4-1/2 ratio with brown rice he blends in a regular blender. He double end cases with verm invitro, dunks, rolls in verm, and mists the dry verm he rolled in until moist. He colonizes at about 87-90 (he started out around 82-86 but has found the slightly higher better.) Just be careful not to go higher than 90. In addition to dunking, he also puts the cakes directly on the perlite and feels that helps increase the yield. Yes, it does water log the shrooms near the bottom of the cake but that doesn't matter, they're getting dried anyway. He also maintains constant airflow and >90% humidity (he did an experiment, constant airflow vs. fanning 1-2x daily -- the difference was HUGE! -- unfortunately, it was so huge he didn't bother measuring the results.) I wrote way more than I intended to, I hope this helps.

No offence intended mushmaster.

i've had weak yeilds and weak potency from cakes. i also find them to be tedious and boring to grow with.
all my bulk projects have kicked ass so i'll never look back.
