Chihuahua Mexico, San Juanito's Feria del Hongo Pre-hunt * 1

So every year a mushroom fair in San Juanito, a town in the Chihuahua's Sierra, its celebrated my girlfriend and I are participating in the fair with some designs and photos so we went there this weekend and here are some picture we took before the fair, in a couple of weeks we are going to get back there and go for some edible mushroom hunting

Hope you like them and can help with the ID

1) Could be the Amanita rubescens group, need to see a pic of the underside
2) Panaeolus antillarum
3) Coprinoid
4) Could be Lepiota
5 - 6) Macrolepiota
7 - 8) Chlorophyllum or Macrolepiota
9 - 10) Panaeolus antillarum
11) LBM, could be Deconica coprophila
12 - 13) Amanita muscaria var. flavivolvata
14) Could be in the Tricholomataceae, need a photo of the underside
15) Lactarius indigo
16) Probably Conocybe but maybe Galerina
17 - 18) Need pics of the underside
19) Maybe Tubaria, need pics of the underside
20 - 21) Could be Hygrophorus hypothejus


I just got back from the fungus fair in Cuajimoloyas, Oaxaca, Mexico and soon I am going to the fungus fair in Senguio, Michoacan, Mexico.  Guess I will miss the Chihiahia fair, sorry about that.  If you can take good pictures of all the mushrooms and save dried specimens, I will ID all of them and write a paper about new records from Chihuahua.

At the Oaxaca fair I ID'd 100 species, and 35 were new records for Oaxaca.  All of the new records were dried and deposited in the Xalapa herbarium.  I am working on a paper about the new records for Oaxaca.

Thanks alot for the feedback we really appreciate it, sorry about the pics but we were taking some for the Queen of the Mushroom Fair :p and didn´t got much time to take them right, but next week I'll get as most pics that i can with all the parts showing...

14 and 15 are the same mushrooms, im going to edit it now so it can be more understandable

Its a shame you cant go here, would be great to meet you :smile: hope next time in the 15th aniversary of the fair

I need to see the underside of the mushrooms in the first pic.  The second are Panaeolus semiovatus.  I will not be at this fair because it is far and the north of Mexico is dangerous.  I am going to Jalisco instead.

Yes, a direct result of the war on drugs in the US.  That is why the southern part of Mexico is much safer.

If you find anything really cool, dry it and save it.  The fungi of Chihuahua are understudied and need more work!  It would be great if you can upload all your pics of fungi from there to mushroomobserver.org.  I know there will be many new records of species from that area, but without a dried specimen its only a rumor...

Today I drove from Huautla de Jiminez, Oaxaca throug Puebla to Xalapa, Veracruz.  Very cool drive, and surprisingly we did not get stopped by any police or military.
