Usually this would belong only in the sports forum but this story I'm afraid has crossed the lines of sports and straight into the pub, people.

So to refresh, New England Patriots tight end, Aaron Hernandez, was charged last week with murder. The body of an acquaintance was found in a field close to his home, and lets just say that evidence is overwhelming. Okay, and that's just the tip of the iceberg. It is also being reported that he is a suspect in a 2012 double murder in Boston, another incident where he apparently shot a dude in the face (who lived) in 2012, and then a shooting back in college where the case was dismissed due to lack of evidence.

Dude. And this guy isn't some scrub. He was one of the top 50 players in the National Football League.

What do you guys think of this? What if they start finding more links to murders? We'd have our first NFL serial killer on our hands... :lol:

Take a look through the recent incidents involving former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez.

April 2007: A worker at The Swamp Restaurant in Gainesville, Fla. claims then 17-year-old Aaron Hernandez punched him and burst his ear drum. Hernandez's University of Florida teammate Tim Tebow is a witness. No charges were filed.

September 2007: Massachusetts police have inquired with Gainesville police about Hernandez's involvement in a double shooing in Florida. Hernandez was questioned by Florida police soon after the incident. The victims survive. No charges were filed and the investigation remains open.

August 2008: Hernandez is suspended one game at the University of Florida after failing a marijuana test.

June 2012: Police are called to a home in Los Angeles for a domestic incident involving Hernandez. No charges are filed.

July 2012: Two people are killed during a shooting in Boston. Police are investigating a possible link to Hernandez.

February: An acquaintance claims Hernandez shot him in the face after an argument outside a Florida strip club. Hernandez is currently being sued, but police are no longer investigating.

March: Police are called to a home in Los Angeles for a domestic incident involving Hernandez. The former Patriots player punches glass and cuts his wrist. No charges are filed.

April: Police are called to a home in Los Angeles for a domestic incident involving Hernandez. A neighbor hears yelling and items being thrown. No charges are filed.

May: Hernandez appears to be a victim in an incident outside of a Providence bar. Police say Hernandez player was being taunted by another man. Several other men joined the man and they continued to taunt Hernandez. An acquaintance of Hernandez discards a gun under a parked car. The acquaintance flees and police confiscate the gun. Several men are detained in the incident, but neither Hernandez nor the acquaintance face charges.

June: Hernandez is charged in the killing of 27-year-old semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd. He has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge and five other gun-related charges. Hernandez is currently being held at the Bristol County Jail and House of Correction.

I don't know why people assume those who seem well established are any more sane than the rest of us. An NFL player can be just as much of a "scrub" as some random kid you graduated with. :shrug:

So there's lots of implications that he is connected to organized crime and is still involved in the street life (like the time when they found a body near his house and the time he shot a dude in the face and oh yeah the time when he may have murdered 2 more people)...well fuck, isn't the whole point of organized crime and the street life to make money?

The guy signed a 5 year, 40 million dollar contract last year. And that doesn't even include the 4 million dollar signing bonus.

lol I mean scrub in the context of the NFL. Scrub means a player who isn't that good. All I was saying is that he was considered a very good to even elite player on the field. That term has nothing to do with him off the field. Obviously how he plays on the field means nothing in the context of these allegations -- but of course this is a much bigger story because of his profile.

Yeah I shoulda said former Patriots tight end. I think they released him right after they put the cuffs on. AND the organization is offering a deal to fans who have Hernandez jerseys to come by the stadium to exchange their Hernandez jersey for any other Patriots jersey of their choice, brand new. Lmao, they're trying to erase the existence of this dude -- they want to distance as much as they possibly can obviously.
