I attended Roo in '09. As my first fest, the enormity of the farm overwhelmed me. Unprepared, young, stupid, and tripping on acid for my first time, things got a bit weird, but nothing like you've said. That kinda shit goes on at larger fests for sure. I have a hard time believing that wherever you went these people followed you. You were there, not me, so whatevs.

Any of you hear about the fuckwads at the Big Up in 09? or 10? who went around campsite to campsite offering free lines of cocaine? Nice people, right? Welp, their "coke" was actually ketamine, and once holed, they robbed the poor saps blind. People caught on quick and destroyed the fuck out of their Subaru. Pretty sure they got arrested with tons of bags, wallets, and other stolen items. Imagine that though? Railing yourself straight into a robbery. Fucking people.

That's an interesting story, and I can relate, but it could have been delusion. I've had some crazy trips too that I still don't know if they were real or just my delusions..

Fuck.... That reminds me.

I had mental problems, but I still did drugs anyway and sometimes I hung out with someone who would speed through the neighborhood but his car was really really loud so I don't know if this is tied to it but I walked in and my 60 year old mom was sleeping on the couch, I go into the fridge and she walks into the kitchen behind me about 10 15 feet with her back turned facing the dining table and just says some shit in this low crotchety voice that I can't even relate to now, but her tone was that I was ungrateful or something but she didn't flat out say it, she then walked back to the couch in the other room and when I walked through from the kitchen between the tv and foot of the couch she SPRAINED to life with this CRAZY open eyed expression and said god knows what, like "OH YOU"RE HERE" pulling her body up from the couch and I walked by like "wtf" I don't even know what happened after that.

The fucked up thing was when I was when I was at the fridge and she was saying that stuff, I knew instinctively to keep my mouth fucking shut and not tip what was going on in any direction.  It was a good idea too, cause she could have came too and fucked herself up but it still felt incredibly old and harsh.

The first night I was there (Thursday) everyone I talked to said "Just wait until tomorrow when the real festival starts." It might not have meant anything but that statement stuck with me. They have these kookoo clocks that go off at the most random times in the middle of the night, and they would play the trippiest shit ever...like classical music mixed with chopped and screwed talking. After all I experienced I definitely think it's a mindfuck of a festival.

Yea man that sounds like a shitty idea putting those clocks. Who ever thought of it probably thought I'd be fun, but they probably made it worse for people tripping.

that's the whole idea of the festival. gang activity, employees fucking with you, kookoo clocks, drugs galore. it's the perfect storm.

it was such a cool experience to start too. on thursday night attractive women were hitting on ME. like damn that had never ever happened to me. seeing radiohead tripping was amazing too since I had fallen in the love with the King of Limbs. But it went from the best trip ever to the worst ever. Transitions are everything. I'll share a better story tomorrow.

My buddy had borrowed his dad's f150 regular cab.  It was probably around one when we finally dozed off.  Next thing I know my friend is shaking my arm whimpering.  First thing I see is the clock: 3:33am.  He stutters out: "do you see them?"  I look up.  The snow had stopped and the moon was fairly bright. Straight ahead (20ft?) are three cloaked figures.  My heartbeat picks up.  "yes" is all I get out before realizing another figure is withing 10 ft of my window.  I guess another was next to his window.  They were walking towards us slowly.  Before I can tell him he has the truck running and peels out.  Turning around I see 4 or 5 more directly behind us.  All of them were in black cloaks as far as I could tell. 

Undoubtedly the scariest shit I have ever experienced.


another quick story, this one second hand:

my dad went to the USAFA.  the campus is fucking huge.  anyways he was a long distance runner and would do 15-20+ mile round trips ever other or third day. very limited in my scope here because I don't wanna make shit up but basically he came upon 10 or more cloaked figures sacrificing a sheep once.  I'll try to get more details or have him write it out sometime.



Dude I have totally seen cloaked figures at night. Me and a lady friend were at the beach drinking. It was basically a scenic point on top of a cliff. There is a bench and a little wooden fence at the end. It was a full moon that night as well. I live out in the woods so it is pretty secluded even at the beach. Just woods behind us, no houses within the immediate area

All of a sudden she looks to the right and gasps, I look over and see a cloaked figure walking toward us but not exactly in our direction. More going passed us toward the cliff in front of us. Then I hear/see another on the left also walking toward the cliff.

I dont remember exactly in which order everything happened, but the one on the left went over the fence just on the edge of the cliff. The one on the right stopped close by and took of his hood. And I said " how's it going?"

I dont remember our conversation word for word, but it was basically something about they come out here every full moon, and he had more friends coming and not to be alarmed if things got weird.

Then he joined his friend on the other side of the bench and the had some metal chalice that they filled from some bottle, then lit it on fire. They both stood over it waving their arms as if doing some type of incantations or some shit.

Me and her just kept drinking and smoking and bullshitting, and I think it frustrated them because after about 10-15 min they abruptly stopped and left and no one else ever showed up.

The Aokigahara Forest. The infamous suicide forest in Japan.

Per Wikipedia

The forest is a popular place for suicides, reportedly the most popular in Japan and third in the world after San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge.[5][6] Statistics vary, but what is documented is that during the period leading up to 1988, about 100 suicides occurred there every year.[7]
In 2002, 78 bodies were found in the forest, exceeding the previous record of 74 in 1998.[1][8] In 2003, the rate climbed to 100, and in recent years, the local government has stopped publicizing the numbers in an attempt to downplay Aokigahara's association with suicide.[9] In 2004, 108 people killed themselves in the forest. In 2010, 247 people attempted suicide in the forest, 54 of whom completed the act.[2] Suicides are said to increase during March, the end of the fiscal year in Japan.[10] As of 2011, the most popular means of suicide in the forest were hanging and drug overdoses.[11]
The high rate of suicide has led officials to place signs in the forest, in Japanese and English, urging suicidal visitors to seek help and not kill themselves. Annual body searches have been conducted by police, volunteers, and attendant journalists since 1970.[12][13][14]
The site's popularity has been attributed to the 1960 novel lit., "Tower of Waves" (波の塔?) by Seichō Matsumoto.[15] However, the history of suicide in Aokigahara predates the novel's publication, and the place has long been associated with death: ubasute may have been practiced there into the nineteenth century, and the forest is reputedly haunted by the Yūrei (angry spirits) of those left to die

so yesterday i read some of these stories and posted a few of mine.  It was after midnight and i was struggling to stay up but because of these stories i was getting a creepy vibe and becoming scared.  I went to my bed and shutoff the computer slowly i fell asleep.  In my dream i could see myself lying on my bed and something was touching my leg and removing my covers.  i woke up to find myself in a sleep paralysis state which has only happened one other time to me.  So i was lying there and since ive had the previous experience i wasnt afraid, but i was shaken by the dream.  I still had feeling in my limbs just a numbing static type of feeling.  I just calmed myself and went to sleep.

Ahh! Sleep paralysis is a wild phenomenon!

Reverse in time to a couple months ago. I'm asleep in my dorm, alone. Roommate is out somewhere. So I wake up and I see this black hooded person rummaging through my closet. I'm like fuck! I'm getting robbed. I try to move and realize I'm completely paralyzed. At this point, the figure turns its head and stares at me for a moment, but there's no face, just a black wispy shadow with undefined arms and legs. The thing quickly scurries across the floor, opens the door, and escapes into the hallway. A moment afterwards I regain movement. I couldn't believe what I just saw. I run over to my closet to make sure this asshole didn't steal any of my stuff as I still kinda thought someone was in my room. I opened the door to see if anyone was outside, but nothing. Seriously, that thing opened the fucking door and fled. Craziest shit I've ever experienced, dream state or no.

Last fall the student below me committed suicide. My roommate and I saw police remove his body from the door downstairs. No relation, really, other than that's spooky in itself. But I swear that thing realized I became conscious, ran past me, and fucking bolted out the door.

During the first(and most frightening) episode of sleep paralysis I had I was thirteen and at one point in the episode I also saw a "figure" or silhouette of someone pushing my cracked bedroom door open, looking around the door inside my room at me, and then simply backing out.

I asked my parents the next morning if they had opened my door to check on me or something like that, and they said no.
The next time it happened I heard a lot of white noise and static, and I think I heard scratching pounding at the closed closet door(walk-in closet).
Very confusing and terrifying, hard to tell where you're at in terms of being asleep or awake and what's real and what's not, though.

If you do research connected with sleep paralysis loads of people see the shadowy figures.  I researched it a bit. I actually seen one during my first experience and last night like i said the dream was so real i could have sworn it happened.

Thats very interesting Ill be aware of sleep paralysis in my dreams. But as soon as I start to become fully conscious it goes away and ive never been aware of other enitities or beings
