Auto-SummaryThe author recounts their experience at Bonnaroo 2012, where they consumed acid for the first time and found themselves disoriented. After losing their friend, they sought help from a man who offered them marijuana instead, which turned out to be something else. This led to the author entering a tent where staff members were faking their jobs, displaying strange behavior, and even taking pictures of them. The author also noticed a group of people with long, colored, and uncared-for dreadlocks, some of whom had satanic symbols on their clothing. These individuals seemed to follow and intimidate others. The author was eventually found by horseback patrol and taken to a higher ranking employee, who expressed skepticism about their story. The author believes they were not hallucinating and that employees were trying to mess with them. They also observed many shirtless males wearing black bandanas throughout the festival, which may be related to gang activity or off-duty employees.
Alright so I'll start off by saying that part of my situation was created by drugs but not all of it is a part of some crazy hallucination. This happened at Bonnaroo 2012. On Friday night I was at radiohead and I dropped acid for the first time. I know that sounds misleading but I can say with 100% certainty that I can differentiate my hallucinations from what was happening. I did most of my hallucinating during the concert and after it was over my friend ditched me in centeroo. I lost my ability to read maps and I started noticing the people in center began to look a little weirder. I'm not using this as my main evidence but in my disorientation it especially freaked me out. I found some people who looked normal so I asked if they could direct me to an exit. The man asked if I wanted smoke some of his weed. I took a hit and it was not weed; it tasted awful. At that point I walked away and I began having some bad hallucinations. I saw an employee driving his cart so I hopped on and asked for a ride. I had money and I told him I'd pay him to take me near lot 1. Instead he took me to the 'lost and found tent', which is by lot 5 I think. I sat in their for an hour and gathered myself. My acid trip was over at this point. And all that was left from me smoking whatever I did was some paranoia. As I sat in the tent I watched the employees and they were totally faking their jobs. They would pretend to type things on the computer but the page wouldn't change at all. The medical staff in the tent didnt actually know how to do anything medically helpful. If there was a real issue they would be taken away to a real medical tent. The point is that I could obviously tell that they were messing with me. They had drawers of 'medical equipment' but no medical equipment was actually in them - EMPTY. As I sat in the back of the tent I could see all of the people walking by. Most of them had long, colored, and uncared for dreadlocks. I want to say they looked like juggalos but most of them actually had satanic symbolism on their clothing. I know it doesn't sound believable considering the drugs I consumed but hallucinations happen in your head; I was definitely seeing these things happen from the tent. This was physical reality/ Every now and then I would see a normal person walk by and they would soon be followed by packs of these same dreadlocked characters. And the way these packs were walking did not seem endearing. They had a look of hatred in their eyes and they were following these persons speedily. I think that would lead a lot of people to beileve that the person being followed was in danger. I saw many of these intimidating looking people walking by. I saw more of those people walk by than I saw normal people. At one point one of the staff from the tent asked me where I was camping and I said lot 1. The employee then rushed me out of the tent and said "uh, yeah walk this way." I stopped and looked at the giant map and I saw that the employee led me in the opposite direction. I decided to stay in the tent because I did not feel safe or ready. At one point all of the staff in the tent began to all talk at the same time and they would just speak sentences that didn't even make sense. It was obvious that they were trying to mess with me and convince me that everything I was seeing was a hallucination. I know this sounds crazy so far but I've been pondering it for awhile and I can differentiate my hallucinations from what I actually heard and saw. The employees in the tent were faking their jobs and trying to mess with me. One of the employees left the tent at one point to go talk to some person and I could see them pointing at me from a distance. They even took pictures of me. I ended up staying there until sunlight (because these dreadlocked characters only came at night). I began to walk back to my tent and there was horseback patrol and I told them what had happened and they brought me to talk a couple of higher ranking employees. I told them everything that had happened. They mostly thought I was crazy, but I think the employees caught wind of what I had said. I had already noticed that many of roo staff had been wearing black bandanas; for the dust of course. But through out Saturday no matter where I walked someone in a black bandana was pointing me out and talking about me. I heard things like "he doesn't know how bad he's gonna get it." later that evening I was going to see the chili peppers. And I couldn't help but notice that almost every person around me in the crowd was shirtless and wearing a black bandana. These could've been off duty employees or a gang of some sort. Manchester is actually somewhat notorious for it's gang activity and roo is also known for it's access to drugs; I'm just throwing that out there. But no matter where I moved in the crowd I was always surrounded by shirtless males, wearing sunglasses, with black bandanas everywhere. They were everywhere. And at one point I was standing behind three teenagers who fit that same description and they turned around and looked at me and whispered to his friend "thats the kid right?" He then proceeded to move to go speak to another person. This was right before the chilli peppers were starting. At that point I went to security at the VIP entrance for the side view of the stage. They let me sit on side steps temporarily. And I was forced to stay the night at the medical tent. I layed low until we left the festival but we were camped so close to the centeroo street that I could look outside of my tent and see all of the same people walking by, but only at night. This is now 40 hours removed from drugs. Which leads to beileve that I was not hallucinating the existence of these characters. I know this whole thing sounds crazy and it was my fault for letting my friend ditch and for not being careful. I've had plenty of hallucinations and I've experimented with drugs; I can differentiate- between hallucinations and real life. I know what I saw and I know that employees were messing with me. Thanks for listening; any feedback is appreciated
