Datura?

Hey all
Been doing little searching into psychedelics especially the ones that occur naturally and I came across a plant known as datura, supposedly it is the strongest hullcingenic (just google it and read some stories about it, they are pretty fucked)
Just wondering if anyone on here has come across it or tried it

The few on this site that I've seen say they tried it -- they were all horror stories. And not just bad trip stuff, more like it sounded like they were poisoned.

Yer had a look at that site
Seems like 90% of people who have done it said it scared the shit out of them!
Makes me wonder what else there is especially in the amazon and secluded forests

Datura could certainly be considered the strongest hallucinogenic in that it causes actual hallucinations. Psychedelics do not usually ever cause real hallucinations (which are realistic perceptions of things which are totally not there at all) rather, they are associated with what could more accurately be called visual distortions or just visuals (enhanced color perception, walls breathing/general movement, etc). Hallucinogen is really a misleading term when applied to psychedelics.

Datura isn't even a psychedelic, its actually referred to as a deliriant and is really not something to take lightly whatsoever. If you do want to try Datura I would suggest smoking small amounts of leaf since its a tremendously less dangerous way to consume it. Tea made from Datura is very hard to properly dose since the plants are known to vary widely in potency from one to the next and thus there is no way to tell how strong the tea you're making is until you drink it (and possibly end up absorbed in delusional hallucinations for two days with total amnesia about what is going on).

I smoked Datura once and just got very low level scopolamine effects- blurry vision and a weird feeling of an alteration of consciousness which is hard to describe but somewhat similar to taking several benadryl but not nearly as sleepy and way way more comfortable (actually not unpleasant, just odd).

I have read first hand reports of long term psychological issue after using datura and brugmsnsia. Seriously this is not worth the risk to your health. Grow some san pedro instead if you're looking for a powerful, legal psychedelic experience.

At higher doses datura is a deliriant and is not to be fucked with. People who enjoy the subjective effects of delirium are rare there are other medical complications that can arise when using high doses of datura that make it not worth the risk.

That said it definitely has use as a shamanic tool. Personally I find that light dose (1-2 seeds stramonium) can cause a noticeable increase of CEVs when combined with classical psychedelics, a more "dreamy" headspace and a reduction in nausea.

Datura sucks. Tried it once, spent 2 days talking to people that weren't there and chasing imaginary insects all around my apartment.

Just get some real drugs. :thumbdown:
