26 of bacardi, and 30 dried grams

So this is what my FOAF did...he took 30.5 dried grams of mushrooms and combined it into a full 26oz bottle of bacardi...he is going to let it sit for 48 hours, then strain the slurry through a cheese cloth deal. Now, has anyone had any kind of experience doing this? Does it work well, does it not work well, any suggestions, ideas that would be great! Thanks

Well it might of been a good idea to find out if it works well before doing it, but i don't have any experience with that. I think eating them is the way to go. But tell us how it goes.

Yeah, I have read lots about alcohol extractions but my FOAF just wanted to know how it worked...his bulk teks have been yielding very highly and he has alot of extra mushrooms to play with SO hopefully things turn out well...if not...what can ya do i guess.

Ok so an update, so far this jar has turned a deep dark dark blue, looks just outrageously beutiful...also has the greatestmushroomy/rum smell...mmm mmm goodness! The only thing i am unsure of is how long to let the little buggers sit in the rum for.

I would think it wouldn't matter how long they sit, so long as when you drink, you also eat any bits in there. That way, you're not missing anything!

the point of what i am trying to do is to eliminate the chunky bits all together and see if i can extract the psychoactive compounds into the alcohol, then hopefully it will be a psychoactive drink. Imagine, mushroom rum and cokes? LOL

if thats wat u want to do then you should have ground up the shrooms into powder and then strained it thru something like a Permanent coffee filter. other wise i doubt ull b able to extract all the chemicals that u want out of the shrooms if u just crammed them in there. dont get me wrong, im sure that beverage will make u trip, but i think if u ground up the shrooms, the drink would have been a lot more potent.

but also i bet those mushrooms are pretty delicate now after being in that bottle for so long, try taking a long shishcabob stick and stick it in the bottle and stir to break up the shrooms, and/or shake it up
