So if you go to google you'll see a small tribute to the inventor of the petri dish - Julius Richard Petri. He was a subordinate of Robert Koch (bacteriology founding father). There is a load of websites who have the following picture of him:

Notice the similarity between this guy and Robert Koch:

IMO someone fucked up and got Koch's image under the Petri wikipedia article. Take it down :flamethrow:

Also unrelated but type Atari Breakout in google and go to images :awedance:

Those men look nothing alike if you think away the facial hair that was typical for the era they lived in.

Looks like the same guy to me, just fatter in the lower pictures. The shape of the ear and nostrils and the curve of the eyebrows are the same.

Google Robert Koch and then Julius Petri. It appears the wiki image is nominated for deletion as of today cause apparently I'm not the only one who thinks this is in fact Koch.

Yeah, definitely the same guy. I think part of it is that his nose looks a lot different head on and in profile. That ear is unmistakable though.

Yeah, it must be that WP fucked up, then Google used their image without double checking.
