This is often told to me by people who know nothing about music so it makes me feel great whenever I hear it. I just look at them and say: yeaaaaah, in a way that makes it sound like im thinking about what they said.

Why is that a strange compliment?

I don't think it implies that you were ugly before, just that you are notably eye-catching now.


"Wow you look really good in that dress." "What? Are you saying I didn't look good before I put it on?"

It's the way she worded it and made it sound. It really wasn't that odd, but its all that I could think of that has happened recently.
