I've had multiple ones. The one I kept longest was the Hindu symbol "Om" or "Aum" combined with "ambient". I liked ambient music, ambient sounds and whatnot. But also the symbol itself is sorta chanted in an ambient fashion. Hence, "Ombient".

This one I just wanted an ironic troll name. Someone jokingly said this in a thread, and I was surprised it wasn't taken.

When I was a kid I got into a fight with another kid the same age as me, well when I say a fight the guy had been pissing me off for the past week at school so when he wasn't I grabbed his head and smashed it into the pavement... several times (I know kind of psychopathy for the age of 11! :eek:). Anyways after that "fight" the kid I drilled face first into the pavement named me gulper (you know just trying to pisss me off and it did piss me off for about a week).

After that growing up with YouTube and PlayStation Network etc you needed a user name to create an account so I would have always used the name gulper because that was what everyone identified me as.

I actually haven't been called gulper in years but still it's the name I go by for anything I need an account for.

I am an aspiring writer, my biggest inspiration is Hunter Thompson, and Hunter created the moniker Gonzo Journalism to describe his style of writing, which I identify with the most as one who loves the writing craft.

TheMushroomJesus- The very first mushroom trip I ever had I was extremely astonished because the experience made me FEEL that the mushroom experience was based around Jesus somehow, it was quite a shock since I was raised in a Christian household. I felt like I was lied too my whole life.  Then I proceeded to read about books like "The Sacred Mushroom and The Cross"..etc.

Quest_ions came from a realization that I had that science was so important because it questions everything and the fact that "you can never ask too many questions" because there is infinite facts out there waiting to be proven. Also, a quest is what my journey of psychs has been like, and "ions" means "to go" in Greek I believe. So I am on the "quest to go"(on a trip)

I was close to getting my pilot's license but then I ran out of money. I still get high but in a different way.

I got offered a free name change by the administration. Since a perennial habit of mine had been to argue positions without a full understanding of the subjects, I went with "BlindSophist". (I didn't realize until later that its initials were BS, but that's really quite serendipitous with the spirit of the name.) It's also a reference to my real-life name.

My username can be taken a number of ways.  It originated in the mind of a 17 year old version of myself while trying to decide upon a name for an experimental solo project I had been working on at the time, which lasted maybe 4 months until I got bored with it.  It was spliced audio from different sources, and I'd add these random guitar effects on top of it.  It was all recorded on cassette tapes and it sounded like shit, so the tapes were destroyed, fittingly.

So when I registered here I thought I'd revive the name, and I'm rather glad I did.  It means more to me now than it did back then.

I got addicted to Skyrim, and stared at the username for far too long. So I picked DarkElf.
