The first is very interesting. Pretty much half the movie is the training with the League of Shadows. If you can open your mind to the fact that its not Batman (but still a crucial part of the story) it's fantastic. Then you got the origin story of Batman and then he does a few things and the movie is over. It's great stuff, but maybe not that great when it first came out and people wanted to see Batman do thangs. Now that I got the second one for that, I love the first for what it does

Bruce's relationship with Rhaz Al Ghul is cool. The third is great too IMO, maybe the pacing is a bit worse.

Bane isn't the best villain I'll give you that. The idea is that he's not only very threatening (compared to the anarchic madness of the Joker) but also has plans of much higher stakes than any other villain in the series.

The third. I don't know why people find that one boring, I think everyone got too used to the action and explosions in the first two (namely the second) and missed what the real point of the series was. I honestly think the first is less interesting than the last but I haven't seen the first in a while.

I can promise my lack of interest wasn't from the lack of explosions lol. I don't need explosions for a good movie, but the actions scenes did pale in comparison to the other two as well.

Bane simply was a poor choice for a villain and then they portrayed him badly too. the mask sounded soooooo dumb, his plan was dumb, and I'd say Bane was as much of a threat as the packs of dogs in the second movie. (which also raped Batman in a fight)

They should have gone darker, stuck with the villains that were more insane than just a highly trained thug with some convicts.

Edit: Oh and killing off two face was a big mistake.

Yeah I'll admit I could've lived without Bane if I was given the Riddler or Poison Ivy. The inclusion of Talia Al Ghul was a great choice to close that whole story arc that started in the first movie but we didnt need Bane

I actually really liked the first movie with all the training and Ghul which led up to the scarecrow.

Didn't think of poison ivy, she would have been really cool too.

How was bane's plan dumb? He was two seconds away from succeeding in blowing up the entire city.

I would agree that there are certainly more interesting Batman villains that I would have loved to see Nolan tackle but Bane was actually a psychopath. He was a product of his environment, rather than rising out of the darkness he succumbed to it and became a force of darkness himself. He didn't seem as twisted as the Joker but I would argue that he was more twisted, he was just much better at convincing others to go along with him because he had a real cause rather than "just wanting to watch the world burn."

I honestly wish Nolan would do more Batman films separate from the trilogy, because I think it stands on it's own, where we see more of Batman's other nemeses. Poison ivy is a definitely a cool character I would have liked to have seen, but the Riddler probably even more-so because I feel like a Nolan portrait of him would be deliciously dark and sinister. :yesnod:

I actually do agree with you. I think I always subconsciously overlook the first one because of how great the second is but it's definitely a great introduction to the characters. I need to watch the first movie again soon. Scarecrow is one of my favorite characters, both because I like Cillian Murphy and because he's just an interesting villian especially in the Nolan films.

Well my opinion on the Nolan films is pretty harsh. Only thing good about it was the Joker. Everything else was meh! They didn't portray the batman I wanted to see. Not to mention Bale had a shitty batman voice. Kevin Conroy should of been asked to voice over!

So a big fat NO to this batman series being the best of the super hero films! Nolan went about batman completely wrong.

Marvel's avengers is the only super hero movie to get the characters right for once. From the costumes to the way the action unfolds. I'm hoping this next Super Man film does supes justice for once.

I thought the Avengers film sucked. To me it just seemed like a very typical action film.

The last time I remember trying to watch anyone of these movies(think it was the first one) was in 11th or 12th grade, somehow we managed to tie it into the curriculum and spent the entire morning watching it. I fell asleep.

I also didn't really develop the ability to sit still and pay attention enough to actually watch movies until I was like 20....
I'm still pretty bad at it.

That's funny because the first time I saw Batman Begins was for an English project in high school.

Did any of you guys play the Arkham Batman games? The series is great, I feel like it takes a lot of notes from Nolan's Batman while still presenting a unique spin. I mention it because you guys seem to like the other Batman villains and in those games you get to interact with a bunch of different Batman villains in a lot of really fun encounters and huge puzzles including the Riddler, Poison Ivy, and Harley Quinn. The graphics are great too, I recommend the games to all Batman fans. :yesnod:

One thing I can't stand about the Nolan series is Batman and Bains voice. Both sound so fake and annoying, especially Bain. He sounded like a bad Sean Connery impersonation overdubbed over the movie at 20dB louder than any other character.

Indeed. I played both, they're fantastic, arguably a better representation of Batman than the films. But it's a different thing.

I didn't like the Avengers at all. It was just dumb nerdgasms like having the superheroes fight for no reason

i'm telling you guys, if you like superheroes, go with the god-tier stuff. franchise dc and marvel stuff is for kids.

i hope this hollywood boner for all the silly crap that i was into in grade school like spiderman and the x-men stays for stuff like this to be adapted. this is what the superhero genre can be. read it if you haven't. you won't regret it.

warren ellis is genius regardless of the genre he writes though. i hope the movie and tv gods catch on while he's still breathing. someone will one day.

I know I had a serious nerdgasm :awelol: Nevertheless I enjoyed it for what it was. It was like watching my Saturday morning cartoon brought to life. The movie's plot was poopy tho.

Yes those games did a better job portraying batman then the nolan films. Which is frank Millers batman. Its like a throw back 90's batman, loved it. The game mechanics were great too.

Same here, Bale's voice as Batman annoyed the hell out of me, and otherwise I wasn't all that impressed with the movies aside from Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker. I like some of Nolan's other movies though, his first movie "Following" is pretty awesome. Memento I thought was pretty good the first couple of times I saw it, but after that I started to get sick of it. Insomnia was alright too.

Hell yeah, the Dark Knight is amazing. Batman Begins is great as well. I haven't seen the third yet, but I heard it was solid.

Personally The Dark Knight is my favorite super hero movie, and one of the best I got to see in theaters. I'm excited for the new Superman one even though I'm not the biggest fan.

Nolan is one of the best, that's for sure.
