I need a small battery powered light...
    #1810903 - 08/13/03 09:01 PM (13 years, 3 months ago)

I am planning to use a 12 gallon cooler as a terrarium, and I am going to store it in a completely dark place. I was thinking that since these mushrooms are phototrophic, placing a small battery powered light on the inside cover of the ice cooler will do. Where can I obtain such a device? If it build it myself, what bulbs do I need to get so that they don't produce too much heat? Will a battery last for a while?

Bedroom light, light from a window, even having a lamp standing near it is all it needs. These are not plants. They only need light to know witch way to grow.

Yes. I know that. I wrote that the terrarium will be in a completely dark place.

i would say a LED hooked up to a battery would probably work just as well as a lightbulb...but take way less power...you can get LEDS cheaply at any electronics store i would imagine.
