Where to look in Upstate New York?
    #1807102 - 08/12/03 09:16 PM (13 years, 5 months ago)

Hey people, I'm new to shroom hunting I've been trying to get to know the more common shrooms around my area, but was wondering if anyone had any tips on where to look. I live near a nice big field and deep woods. Thanks in advance

Look everywhere. Each mushroom has its preferred habitat. By looking in several types of habitat you will become familiar with the sorts of mushrooms to be found in each place.

I tend to like areas that are transitional between two habitats. For example, areas at the edge of fields and forests, or an area where forests of two different types of trees border on each other.

Good luck and happy mushrooming!
