Taking a meditation course
    #18044232 -

I haven't posted in here many times, and I look forward to browsing here are bit more.  I will keep this updated with my progress!

Today we did some stretching followed by a quiet period, then laying on our back for a while.

I felt very calm after a while.

It was very grounding, and I enjoyed it.

We used a silent mantra, I forget what it was, but it meant "I (something), I honor".

I'm not sure if it was helpful or not.

You'll likely get more there then you would from any yahoo around here.

Smoked some opium for the first time before going to class

Keeping my mind from getting distracted hy thoughts was never that way before lol.

I got so deep into a trance I woke up with a gasp several times.

What a powerful afternoon.

Today we did a 20 minute session against the wall, focusing on breathing and back posture

I'm trying to get into meditation. I wish my college had a meditation course that would be . Would you consider yourself proficient in meditation, or was this the first time you thought you'd try it?

Although I wonder if I really would need to take a course or if I could learn on my own. It seems simple enough but obviously it's not the easiest thing in the world.

Seems like it would be helpful having someone guide you through it because you couldn't really give up in frustration after it not working 5 minutes in.

Having a guide is really helpful!
I've begun looking forward to it as the best part of my day

TRANCING OUT is the OPPOSITE of FOCUSED AWARENESS.

Meditation develops the MAIN CONSCIOUSNESS when you are Concentrating your Awareness.

Trancing out makes your Main Consciousness weaker.

Your Assistant Consciousnesses may develop in Trance but that leaves YOU the person that decided to pursue Meditation:

Gaining Nothing at All.

Some substances sharpen Awareness, other substances are deleterious to the development of Concentrated Awareness (like opium).

Better idea for meditation:  Just a few tokes of a STRONG SATIVA, a pure Sativa will put you in a Focused Concentration.(Change of clothes and shower BEFORE you go to class...unless you want nasty looks from people.)

Focus Through the activity, a sign that it is working is that you become MORE AWARE of how long you have been sitting there.

If it feels like some time has passed and then you look at your watch and it has only been a few minutes you are on the right track.

It is like working out in the sense that if you are Concentrating then you are getting somewhere.

My teacher said something to that effect, about that feeling of conversation being your brain making new connections that draw you back to your center :aum:

The more often you are Aware, especially in Concentrated Awareness which is the Heart of Meditation, the faster you will grow and evolve as an Enlightened Being.

Lao Tzu's Tao Te Ching speaks about holding on to the Center, this is one of the Meanings there.

Today was my 3rd meditation session, and I have been feeling extreme rushes of euphoria for absolutely no reason the last few days.  I can think of no other thing about my life that I have changed, and in fact there are a few things going on in my life that should make me NOT happy.

I attribute this inner peace and happiness completely to the meditation.

We have adopted the silent mantra "Na maha, na maha".

Still do some basic yoga stretches and breathing exercises before and after, which I also enjoy.

If this is what meditation can add to my life this is DEFINITELY going to be a constant thing in my life :sun:

I won't say I've never been happier because that's relative, but I feel much more fulfilled and at peace than I have in a long time.

Meditation is fucking awesome!!!! :awesomenod:

edit: does anybody know what "na maha" means? the teacher said something about honor but I forget.

rEgardless of what it means, I love this mantra.  IT rolls across my essence like butter... such a smooth and soft vibration

If you don't take the bumps on the road personally you will find peace of mind and Higher Enlightenment.

Sometimes we lose "things" in our lives that weren't as good as they looked...

There's a meter you can see next to a person when your third eye is open,

that meter tells you about their Character.
