OP, do you not have a single female friend?

I think you are judging Jesus a little too harshly.  What are you in the real world, some kind of middle-level government functionary who is charged with keeping the peace in the temple?  Are you a security guard?  Or were you rejected from security guard school because you couldn't pass the entrance examination?  You can tell us.  We know you have issues of your own and that you involuntarily lash out to compensate for your deficiencies and due to you suffering from Small Penis Syndrome.  Talk to us.  We want to help you.

I tend to get :seriousbusiness: too much at times, I know
I was referring to his overly cynical viewpoint of his posts. I felt/feel bad for his lady.

Relationships are built on trust. It took me way too long to figure that out myself, sadly.
Mainly "OP, do yourself a big favor, and tell your "girlfriend" she either quits hanging out with these guys or you're done.
That's what I'd do. "

Like she's doing something wrong.

And I'm a woodworker/CNC machinist if that helps, MPD...

I love how so many people seem to think that their gf/bf is their property.  You wanna know why you keep getting fucked over?  Because no girl (or guy) can deal with jealous, controlling bullshit.  People of the opposite sex CAN have platonic relationships.  If someone is going to cheat there isn't anything you can do about it.  But you can definitely increase the chances of someone cheating by being a big baby who needs to control everything.  No one with this attitude will ever have trust, and without trust there is no relationship.  Some of you have some seriously messed up views on how a relationship works.  EVERYONE has sexual thoughts about people that are not their partner that they find attractive.  Don't act like you don't look at attractive women and fantasize about fucking them.  Get over yourself.  Double-standards.  You can't make anyone stay faithful if they don't want to be, so wasting any energy on preventing heartbreak of this kind is a complete and utter waste.

Grow up.

Best Advice on here.....True That!...People gotta remember....There is only one person on this earth who you can change.....that is you. If you are a jealous person....ugly trait, by the way, it usually meanjs that you are untrustworthy yourself.:sunny::peace:M

My lady wouldn't fuck some dude she hung out with if we were together. Even if she had to crash at his house for whatever reason (weather, car problems, etc). I know she wouldn't. I'm not saying I would love the idea of it, but she isn't a skeezer and I know she respects me enough to not hurt me in that way....but she wouldn't go without inviting me anyhow.
Maybe you need to find some women who have self respect and respect for their lovers.

I've found that shit like this tends to be a self-fulfilling prophecy. You show how insecure you are and drive your lady away showing her that you don't trust her or whatever.

Sure, A LOT of PEOPLE cheat, is it the majority? You know the woman the best, you should know whether she is capable of hurting you like that, and if so, what's the point of being with her/them?

Its not a defense.
Its a fact...NOT ALL WOMEN ARE SKEEZY CHEATERS.

Why would you date women with whom you can't trust? That makes no sense.

OP: you have to trust her, and be secure in yourself. The reality is, she has an extensive social network inclusive of men-- this gives her options for companionship outside of her committed relationship. I think this is a natural thing for some people, perhaps based in our evolution, that mitigates their risk of being overly committed to one person. It's not good that she doesn't want you to participate in these relationships or interactions with her guy friends, but it's not that big of a deal.

Sounds like it may be time for you to simply accept her need for male friendships and get yourself some gal friends. Every time my girl and I run into one of my attractive female buddies I seem to get my cock rocked pretty thoroughly that evening. Just saying, fair is fair, and trust goes both ways.

well I agree with you, they aren't all cheaters. that's why I addressed the rule/exception idea. the NAWALT thing is just a little catch phrase that captures that.

but yeah, I didn't learn until 4 years into the relationship that my ex lied about a lot of stuff. it was like i was blinded by wanting to believe her through loving her. once i started getting some distance on the situation, and actually evaluating our conversations carefully, i realized she had manipulated and lied to me (actual mind control, making me think i had misinterpreted her meanings, changing stories, shifting around excuses - straight up lying) a great deal in the last year or more of our relationship.

worse i caught her lying about something significant i won't mention to her parents. i figured hell, if she'd lie to them, why not to me?

all downhill once i realized i was dating someone i couldn't trust. it was over pretty quick after that realization.

you must be one of the lucky few shLong. seems like people either have a rare genuine relationship, or more likely a shitty dysfunctional relationship, divorced, married, friends w/b, or they are happy and single, or sad/lonely and single.

Of course a lot of women (like a lot of men) sleep around and lie about it. They're people, and people mostly suck. So what? The question is, does telling them who they're allowed to be friends with help, and is it worth it? In my opinion
(1) it doesn't help
(2) it probably hurts by driving them away from you
(3) it's just wrong to treat another person like that.

Personally I prefer an open relationship, since I won't break an agreement but don't want to enter one that will make me miserable. But that won't be everyone's cup of tea.

Mine isn't all roses and cherries, believe that, but I know her well enough to know that she won't be getting some D when I'm away.

I've been with a cheater/liar. Never again. Usually you can tell their type pretty quickly though...especially if you spend a lot of time with them.

if a guy gave me that ultimatum, i would definitely choose my coworkers.

ahh, true love right there.

your thinking is so backwards. true love is not jealous and controlling. i would not take an ultimatum like that well because i don't want a disgustingly jealous boyfriend who won't let me have guy friends.

Yeah no kidding. You have to WORK with these people, why would you make some dumb awkward shit because some jealous fag your dating is being a bitch?

Your friends will stick around with you after break up. You dont want to cut out your friends for some 6 months fling that wouldnt have worked anyways.

the word "friend" is tossed around so casually these days.

I'd venture to say about 1 percent of the people you (and I don't mean you specifically Azure, just people in general) call a "friend" are actually a real, true, and genuine friend, not some transient acquaintance you happen to work with and associate with out of pure happenstance.

but a multiple year relationship? yeah those come around all the time. tossem to the wind.

Yeah, I mean co-workers are one thing. I can't imagine coming home and being like, 'honey, I met this great gal today, she's super cool and fun--she's into fishing and I'm going to take her out on the boat this weekend--I think we may be long time buds."

The more I think about it, the more I can imagine sleeping on the couch.

It's already been said multiple times but I will say it again so perhaps it will sink in OP.
Being a controlling possessive jealous boyfriend will destroy the very fibre of your relationship over time. It eats away at it and will cause you two to grow apart.

Yes people (men and women both) cheat, but not all do, and quite frankly, if she is going to cheat she is going to cheat on you. Making silly ultimatums and being a control freak will simply drive her away and do the very thing that your jealousy seeks to prevent. Ironic how that happens.

Trust really is the foundation of relationships. When I was younger I was very controlling and possessive / jealous, and it ended up in devastation like it always does. But it taught me a valuable lesson. My relationship now is amazing, and trust is a huge factor in that. I don't tell her who she can hang out with, or what she can do - I trust her. And she - likewise with me.

Ultimatums lead to resentment. Resentment leads to either a miserable relationship or breakup. Jealousy will eat you away over time, it's a horrible feeling. I really would suggest seeing a counsellor about overcoming these issues of yours, if not, they will poison every relationship you will have.
